  1. Much like a lot of the Asian position players I believe Ichiro pitched quite a bit in HS/College. Same with Shin Soo Choo IIRC.
  2. Well, at least Tulo got another double.
  3. The Rangers have now likely put it out of reach. I'm sure they'll have Hamels go all the way instead of testing things out with their pen again.
  4. Eddy may fall just short of 40 HRs (though he should still get one more shot at it), JD will fall short of .300 and MB falls short of the 200 innings... argh, what a horrible day.
  5. Today's turning into a #Bombtogether for our Jays.
  6. Hutch back to doing his typical 2015 Hutch stuff.
  7. IIRC Houston has the tiebreaker, which means the WC game would be in Houston where Houston plays MUCH better.
  8. Yanks on pace to get swept by the Orioles, lol. Would be hilarious if they somehow ended up dropping down to play Houston away in the WC game.
  9. Doesn't seem like JD will get to .300, ugh. Really cooled off for the most part of September.
  10. Nice play by Edwin. Still don't get why he's out there to risk injury playing the field.
  11. Man, it really pissed me off on how it's always so hard for us to win a series at this goddamn place (yes, I realize we won one series here in June, but even for that we had to work real hard for it). This wouldn't have pissed me off as much if we'd have just won that game yesterday, now it really bugs me that we're gonna lose this series, lol.
  12. I'd have argued it just from the perspective of the inconsistent balls/strikes, that whole check swing thing, etc., not necessarily to reason with the ump to call those two innings in charity for Buehrle (though I understand it may come off that way anyway)... and also to just fire the team up. It seemed like Martin, the whole bench, etc. were very upset with the calls, the ump had a few arguments with Martin and the Bench that inning.
  13. Does he have an injury? Odd that he wouldn't start on what's very likely his last MLB game.
  14. Well, cheer for the Orioles, Angels and the Astros everyone.... let's at least have the two West teams waste their pitchers/stamina for the AL West play in game and maybe also have the Yanks play the WC game away.
  15. Well, this makes me feel a lot better at least knowing that it probably wouldn't have mattered. Thinking about it, not a great way for Torii Hunter to go out either, I think he said he's likely finished after this year as well.
  16. One can argue ump kept up his professionalism despite all the sentiments going into this start by MB, but he'll likely hear about it from many people post game regardless. I'm actually surprised Gibby didn't go out there to jaw at him to get tossed there.
  17. Not necessarily tying it in to the error he made, but one thing I don't get is why he is playing 1B today over Cola when there's bigger chance that he may get injured playing the field.
  18. I'd like to see our hitters at least go out with some fight in this game, Goins and EE especially.
  19. What an embarrassment lol. Way to get even more fried Ryan Tempura.
  20. I don't get giving him a hook then when we had already have essentially thrown the game after the grand slam. Gibby should have been coming out to Jaw at the ump and get tossed if he has to... But certainly our D didn't help.
  21. Yup, that's the formula we used in 1992 WS. The home advantage definitely isn't as big in 2-3-2 than in 2-2-1-1-1.
  22. I agree with that reasoning personally but we all know how much Gibby is fixated on specific roles for his players this year... I just can't see him changing his stance on that for the playoffs.
  23. Ironically enough it'll be Torii Hunter's (likely) final game of his career for the Twins as well as it likely being Buehrle's final game of his career for us. Hope that those two factors can motivate both teams a bit extra.
  24. True, I forgot that he actually pitched in the first game as well, although it was only for 1/3 of an inning on 7 pitches. But then I guess he did make over 20+ pitches tonight so while that's no Shawn Tolleson over the past 5 games type usage, I guess it wouldn't be worth the risk. Hopefully the 4 day break will enable him to reset everything mentally and give him enough rest physically to prepare himself for the ALDS.
