  1. Finally a break. Really need to take advantage.
  2. Finally a damn baserunner.
  3. ...just absolutely no luck today.
  4. This JD cool down lately has me worried, if not only for that similar cooldown last year.
  5. Finally a reliever. I'd actually have stretched out Hill until his arms fall off, lol.
  6. We're lucky the ump gave us that outside strike to give us the chance at that strikeout to get out of the inning. Truth to be told we deserve to lose this one, yesterdays loss still pisses me off more.
  7. Almost screwed up another play on D there, we're lucky Panda didn't read that well.
  8. Ooh, a Hawkins sighting.
  9. Even that fvcking Bee wants us to lose.
  10. this has to be our worst defensive game in the second half. Just brutal.
  11. Really hope this is Hill's last inning, but I have a feeling they might stretch him out for one more...
  12. Finally Gibby gives up on Pennington, glad he finally came to see to it.
  13. Cecil is certainly money right now. Question is do we stretch him out for another inning here with Yankees series coming up? I'm guessing Gibby won't...
  14. It really really sucks that Cecil is the only dependable LHP out of the pen and Loup can't even be depended on as a LOOGY, it really makes Cecil's usage very inflexible.
  15. Ugh these infield hits...
  16. We're making this guy look like freaking Jimmy Key here... I've kind of given up on us getting anything going vs him now, let's just stretch out his pitch count to get him the hell out of there and go after their pen. I'd also pinch hit for Pennington next inning, we seriously need to get something going offensively.
  17. MB still somehow scrapes out a quality start. So kudos to him for at least battling through it. Think his D let him down quite a bit today, though part of it was himself fielding also. Still not convinced enough to give him a post season start yet...
  18. It's about an outing I expect from MB these days, I'm actually satisfied with him limiting it to this much thus far. What's let me down more today is the defence...
  19. Bautista + pop up + sun = heart attack
  20. Pennington hitting right handed is just horrendous... Still only one hit as a Jay batting RH. Barney should seriously see a bit more time vs Lefties the rest of the way, at least until the division is locked up...
  21. I think that late cover was due to the shattered bat. That throw was bad though.
  22. In general I can see more of a reserved celebration like how it was when we won the division in 1992, guys were happy they clinched but knew that the real target was the pennant after the 1991 disappointment. Will also depend on which fashion they win the game in, if it's a walk off at home for example or win it in some other dramatic way I'm sure the guys will go all out.
  23. For ALDS at least it's possible that Buehrle won't get put in the rotation with only three guys needed so maybe that's what he meant (though that doesn't necessarily mean that he'll come out from the pen to pitch either). and yeah, 8 bullpen pitchers won't happen as we will already have at least one of Stro/Estrada/Buehrle in the pen. Plus we won't be able to afford shallow bench depth especially with Tulo's health uncertain.
  24. Pennington's been horrid from the right side of the plate, I think he still has only one hit as a jay as a RH hitter, seems tolerable enough from the left from a defensive specialist/utility perspective though... I know Barney's not going to see the postseason but surely he's worth a couple starts over Pennington with a lefty on the mound? Certainly appreciate Pennington's versatility and experience though.
  25. I do wonder if Gibby would be confident enough to go into the postseason with only one lefty middle reliever. Even if Buehrle gets put in the pen it's definitely a role he's not used to and you have to wonder how effective he would be there. On the other hand, Gibbons hasn't used Loup in too many high leverage spots lately and it's clear that Gibby's had a huge drop of confidence in him (understandably). Although we actually had only one lefty reliever in the pen in 1992 (Wells, though Key was used as a reliever a bit in ALCS) and won the whole thing so perhaps it wouldn't matter as long as we have some rock solid guys going in and starters do a good enough job going deep.
