  1. i feel bad first for Papa and then Goins and EE; they are probably suffering right now As for Gibby, I don't give a f***
  2. we may not come back to win this guy but i guarantee you the boys will put together good ABs and fight to the end...
  3. When Gibby decided to start Papa, you knew he prioritized showing respect to Papa than anything else. It's clear that was his #1 priority. Getting the best record was never a priority despite what he or AA may say. By the simple action of going with Hutch if Papa couldn't go says it all. He probably couldn't envision things going this badly but there's no way that he can convince me that he's trying to win this game based on his decisions...
  4. To me, the biggest question mark is Gibby - Does he understand that he has all these options in his pen and is he willing to NOT put in Osuna in the 9th or at least have a quick hook
  5. are you guys in the east coast?? you guys are still up at 3am??
  6. I agree. After all, Cueto and his shake-and-bake moves is going for KC...
  7. I think with the way our pen has been going in general, there are options. Which option to use is not my biggest concern. It's Gibby and his sense of status-quo/loyalty - whatever you want to call it. Despite what's clear to us and backed up by some numbers quoted here, I am not convinced that Gibby sees that he needs to do something different with the "closer" role. This is despite the options that he has
  8. Despite what Gibby or AA says about trying to get the best record in AL (which both AA and Gibby have said), by them starting Papa/Hutch tomorrow, they clearly have other priorities. I don't want to debate the benefits/non-benefits of HFA/playing the wildcard winner. It's be debated ad nauseam here already and it's becoming a pissing contest. All I am saying is that Gibby and AA are just "saying the right things" to the media. It's clear by their actions that their priorities are somewhere else ... And this is not from a fantasy bozo
  9. Yes - if the matchup is in the 8th; what if we need him before that?
  10. Or put in another way - with the young kids, it is the parents responsibility. When my kids were younger and we had good seats, I always brought a glove not so much to get a souvenir but for my kids protection...
  11. There's no doubt that Cecil has been _the_ lights out guy coming out of the pen in the stretch. The problem with Cecil being the de-facto closer is that he is coming into the game in the 9th. What do we do when we have a lefty-lefty matchup before the 9th?
  12. so i heard it from Gibby in the PG - if B feels good, he starts; if not, it's Hutch
  13. well said. i think most guys here look beyond the result. yes a save, a win is important but then most of us look beyond that. yeah you can get a save but you can also be getting hit hard. it's been happening for a while now
  14. I just hope Gibby is not so stubborn ... Gibby: well you know he's done a great job for us all season he really has. He's our closer you know. He can't be perfect you know
  15. I agree. Gibby knew that it was a twin bill. The celebration was going to have to wait anyways... Whatever but like many said, the bigger issue at the moment is Osuna; playing the WC winner is secondary
  16. i don't think he has the option; they've been sitting dead red; that's how bradley jr got to him...
  17. after a great sequence with Cabera, he starts messing around with those sliders to Souza and he wasn't touch the fastball
  18. is mahtook a defensive sub?? what's the logic there?
  19. that was one of the rare called strike where the catcher goes inside and has to reach back. the pitch is in the zone but rarely do i see umps call that for a strike... good for him
  20. i know the rays don't have much to play for, fans don't have much to cheer for but it'd sure would be nice to tack on some runs here..
  21. I would think our best would be Dickey. Bring him back on 3 day rest - his PC on Wed was like 50 something....
  22. It's the short porch and the ridiculous carry ... at least in the last series...
  23. I'm listening to the Ray's feed and their reporter down on the field just said that it's Hutch
  24. Agree about HFA but it's not about HFA, it's about facing the WC winner and not facing their ace in game 1
  25. With all the games starting at the same time, they won't know whether it'll be meaningful or not assuming they pull out a W here
