  1. Ramirez is getting hit harder than Buehrle
  2. To me, JB is actually a scarier AB then EE. His sense of ball/strike is just unbelievable. If he is playing against me, I'd be sweating it out as to how to pitch to this guy. In fact JB and his plate discipline/walks is the one topic that inevitably get brought up with my baseball buddies here in Dodgers land. It's questionable whether he'd be willing to go into FA as a DH though...
  3. I heard that too. I found it interesting that in the same interview, he said that he believed that it would be EE who would extend (imply leaving money on the table) and that JB would want to get every last $ and therefore may head elsewhere assuming the Jays can't extend both. I thought that was an interesting perspective
  4. apparently they figured with the Sox lineup, they don't need to waste Davis ... and they were right
  5. i wasn't listening to the royals feed but my guess is Hudler made the comment. he used to do color here in Cali for Angels and the fans couldn't stand him either
  6. he's the white sox guy color with Hawk ... used to be with WGN doing Cubs stuff but the team took issue with him because he was too "honest" (i.e. critical of the team)
  7. I don't know if it's because he's older, the Sox are out of it, or it's late in the season but I'm finding that Hawk is not as obnoxious as I remembered him; i actually enjoy listening to him and stonie... i just made a post in another thread that if they don't renew Stone's contract, we should make a run at him
  8. Someone made a comment in the forum that we should get Orsillo to do play-by-play for us. Well now that he is moving onto the Padres, I would love to have Steve Stone do color for the Jays (yes I know I'm still hungover from the celebration last night). I first listened to him back in his Cubs days and to me, he always mixed his honesty with his insight really well. Not the most colorful guy IMO but a guy I always seem to learn something new every time I listen to him. A somewhat random thought as I am watching the Sox/Royals game...
  9. So by my math, if the Royals go 3-1 against Sox/Twins, Jays have to go 2-2 against O's/Rays. Or Royals go 2-2 and Jays go 1-3. With the way the Royals are going, it's conceivable they'll go 2-2 and best case 3-1. I can't see them going 4-0 If we concede the O's game, we have to win 1 or 2 against the Rays. Going for the Rays are Ramirez, Archer, Moore. So what do you guys think?
  10. s***! Royals just pulled ahead
  11. what are they chanting?
  12. good news is that the white sox are doing their best to help
  13. one thing i agree with zaun on - kawasaki is at best the team mascot
  14. i actually checked his twitter while we were celebrating... no congrats, no nothing; same for Lawrie
  15. and we haven't won anything yet
  16. we have our excuse; what's the O's; 2 hits or is Dickster that good tonite...
  17. i don't know what "future" he has given that he is 30
  18. gausman is just going after the hitters given the lineup that he's facing. a lot of fastballs; for sure he'd have a different approach if the regulars were in;
  19. the red sox are up against the yanks ... never mind... sox and royals just getting started... i love it!!!
  20. If the 'stros and Angels win tonight, they'll be 2 games back on the Yanks on the WC. Last time I checked, Yanks had something like a 4/5 game lead. I didn't know it was this close...
  21. Thanks. Great read. I remembered visiting that stadium several summers ago - stadium right in the middle of a suburb...
  22. Was West out of position though? My initial reaction was that he hould have been positioned in front of the plate (but was too fat and lazy to move) but I don't know if that throw by Davis had anything to do with it...
