I've always favoured trading Vlad and still do. I think they need a rebuild. But they won't. They're trying to save their jobs. -
I'm down to rooting for central teams. That's not a very reassuring feeling. I might even accept the Mets at this point and that hurts but beggars can't be choosers.

I hope he's eating, sleeping, making some time for family and leisure and watching his coaches doing their jobs, because those are important. I can't believe there's anybody that really believes the net effect of a manager's job is critical, in this day and age especially. I believe in veteran presence more than I believe in that and I only slightly believe in veteran presence. But ultimately it's subjective so, whatever. Bottom line: I don't really care if our manager gets fired or not, that's the least of my concerns.

No a manager does the lineup card and in-game substitutions and I'm sure a bunch of other crap that is now dictated by a statistical analysis. Having a TV host is a lot less dumb than thinking managers really matter that much. I don't think they ever really mattered much at all but they matter even less now to the point of approaching zero impact real fast.

I didn't say there were no baseball people as managers I'm saying it's irrelevant now because it's all statistically driven. It doesn't matter who the manager is anymore.

Given that having "baseball people" as managers are no longer relevant, just have Emily Agard go out there in the original counselor Troi uniform with a blue jays decal where the Starfleet logo goes and an earpiece for direct communication with the statistics department.

Even going back to the Atlanta and New York double header, The last week of baseball has been fantastic.

My hatred of the Dodgers and Yankees would overwhelm my love of baseball. It might be the one world series matchup I will never watch. I never watched any of the Yankees and Red Sox series' that everybody raved about. Including the Red Sox comeback. Yankees/Red Sox and Dodgers/Yankees might be the only baseball matchups I refuse to watch. As much as I love baseball, I think they would physically make me ill. I would be unable to feel any joy or excitement watching.

Haven't they lost like a million playoff games in a row? It's got to get to you at some point especially when you have a core like that and complacent ownership. I shed no tears for them though, their misery is my joy.

Honestly I'd be pretty pissed off that they are squandering a couple of cheap years of outstanding young players. They should have been much more aggressive sooner than they have been. They already have a couple of key free agents and the young kids will start to get expensive in a couple of years. Windows can come and go very quickly especially in the American League East

East ain't getting any easier either. Rays are the Rays and will be healthier. Red Sox aren't going to keep spinning their wheels. Yankees and Orioles not going anywhere. It's a real uphill battle. -
The Royals are a funny team, they unexpectedly show up in the playoffs every once in a while just to f*** everybody up.

I really don't like anyone left in the National League except Milwaukee. But this should indeed be a great series. Two well rounded teams.
