    I think they see Roden as a leadoff type, sort of leadoff hitting ahead of the leadoff in the nine spot. They figure Barger might get a fastball to hit in that part of the lineup which is why they're batting where they are.

    That's the thing, even if he's a below average hitter if he can just hit well enough you would like to be able to deal with it but I'm not sure the lineup is strong enough to carry his bat. I don't mind sacrificing his glove but I don't want a butcher to replace him is all I'm saying.

    I think defense is the top priority at 3B. Doesn't have to be an elite defender but somebody reliable.

    Have missed most of the game due to work, it's like everything is going pretty swimmingly. Bassitt continues to dominate and look who finally ran into one. Got it lined up for the win now.

    All of which is to suggest that nobody should be looking at statistics this early in the season and trying to derive any meaningful trends.

    I understand that, I hope we obliterate Strider. I would derive no joy from watching him carve our lineup apart.
