    I'm surprised the fat doesn't also bobble on his bobble arm giveaway. He's short and stocky even if he loses weight he'll never be a runner.

    What are you going to do? Ground ball pitcher, Kirk is fat. Predictable outcome. He still thinks he's a hitter so he'll never teach himself to bunt but he kills us so often in those situations.

    I wasn't concerned about Gausman, but I was always going to be concerned about home runs with this team. There's just not a lot of places where it's going to come from. That having been said this is becoming an extreme slump. Still early and very cold out there.

    Yeah I have been critical of Shapiro and Atkins but this very much does seem to have been above their heads.

    I keep wanting to let this disaster of a contract go, but it just gets worse and worse and worse. They do understand they were bidding against themselves don't they?

    It's still early enough and his velocity does look crisp. I think we need to give it a few more starts to really assess. He may yet give us an ace caliber year. If not, let's hope he's at least a really good number two to slot in behind Easton 🙂

    Actually you do have to worry about what might happen in 2034 if that's how long you're signing guys through. I don't know what this beta stuff is all about, fiscal prudence is not about dick measuring. The Vlad deal is probably already bad enough, but we might survive that one, we shouldn't double down on anything beyond what they think will be Bo's useful years.

    Gausman has become a bit of an enigma these days. If they show discipline on the splitter it could be a rough day. Meanwhile it's nice to finally have some left-handed hitters to throw at Houck. I feel like that's been a real problem in the past for us against him. I have no idea which way this is going to go.

    I remember a buddy of mine admonishing me for drinking cold water on a hot day after we just played basketball because of some stuff he learned from Liverpool trainers when he did a tour of Anfield when he went to visit some family in the UK...all while lighting up a smoke.

    When a guy is a great defender, I give them some leeway because they always try to make the great play. It's how they're programmed.

    This game ended up being a lot more fun than the initial lineup card would have suggested. Well, so far...

    Lucas looked f***ing great. If you can watch the replay I would suggest it because his body language as the game went on really stood out to me. Boston defense is bleh. Certainly played a role.
