  1. Certain people only seem to show up in these game threads when the getting is good. Kudos to the real fans who show up even for the curb stompings.
  2. Getting ass blasted by the White Sox is a great way to start the weekend.
  3. It's a good thing the site was down. It's best to pretend this game didn't happen lol.
  4. Nah, it's not. Halladay was a pitcher you knew would be nails even in the highest pressure against the greatest lineups. Look at the ridiculous roided Red Sox and Yankees lineups he routinely had to navigate. We all knew he'd be a great postseason pitcher even before seeing him pitch in the postseason. And he was. Never felt that way about Gausman even in 2022. Then he proved he wasn't that guy in the postseason. Halladay was just a different breed man. I think it comes down to the fact that you couldn't game plan around Halladay. You knew what was coming, you knew it was in the strike zone and you couldn't do f*** all against it. Sort of like Mariano Rivera. Swing and pray. You can game plan against Gausman, and we've seen teams do that successfully.
  5. Yeah, I know he's generation. Although it's been over 15 years now, it would be nice to have another. My whole point was that even the aces we have had, including Gausman in 2022, can't replicate the soothing feeling of having Doc on the mound. Price maybe came the closest, then came the playoffs where the difference between clear again.
  6. Going to be real tough to get a frontline arm at this deadline because it will definitely be a seller's market. Our best hope might actually be Manoah coming back in ace form. Do I expect that to happen? No, he wasn't that guy before the injury so it's wishful thinking to expect that he will be after the injury. But at one point he was an ace caliber pitcher, so it's in there somewhere. That or a guy like Yesavage makes a miracle rise, but I don't think that's likely either.
  7. That's still not elite, and he's not even that guy anymore.
  8. God I miss the feeling of having Roy Halladay on the mound. Really haven't had that feeling since, even with Robbie Ray even when Gausman was really good, still never felt that same confidence.
  9. Starting to look more and more like we don't even have a number two in our rotation. Right now we have three threes and some unknowns.
  10. After the injuries last year I think he just decided it's not worth going 100% anymore, I think he's probably going 85 to 90% tops and cutting bases carefully.
  11. Those are the kinds of swings we need from Vladdy.
  12. Good job kid. I guess Bo just doesn't run anymore.
  13. Not a must win game, but a REALLY F***ING nice to win game.
  14. What's that smell? Ah, the pungent smell of manure.
  15. Devers is a dick. His teammates probably wanted him gone at this point. This whole thing turned into a mess for Boston. I couldn't be happier.
  16. Well that was sobering. So we're not the greatest team that ever existed lol. It's still a good team, a well-balanced team once we get healthy. However, we need more frontline starting pitching. We got some dead weight in the bullpen that I assume will be gone once the bullpen gets healthy. It better not be based on seniority. Vlad also needs to be a superstar. I have a feeling this is a dead horse that will be beaten into a fine dust over the coming years. But it's the f***ing truth.
  17. Great play! Little is NOT the guy to put into a basees loaded situation. His command is 50/50 to begin with but he spikes a curveball or two every single at bat, even if he's intending to do it it's risky with a runner on third.
  18. I just tuned into the game before he walked the first batter and I was like "hey it looks like it's actually going well"...f*** me it went downhill rapidly.
  19. This seems like the most predictable outcome of the season.
  20. I know he's only pitched a few games but combined with last year it's starting to look like TV dinner is cooked.
