  1. This thread is good for blowing off steam but we all know he's not going anywhere. He's got the built in excuse of playing home games in three cities blah blah blah, I've already heard the narrative in the aftermath. The weak-kneed media will give him a pass, management will give him a pass, and on we go.
  2. Let's all just be happy for ESPN and Major League baseball for getting their Yankees/Red Sox cream matchup. They will be treated to a 7 hour, 9 inning game on Tuesday.
  3. Agreed, at least have somebody keeping their arm loose doing some soft tosses right off the bat. It's no f***ing around time.
  4. I'm guessing that's the five-inning lineup, I'd be happy to be proven wrong but I can see him pulling starters eventually.
  5. I really wish our chances were better than garbage Washington kid against Chris Sale and Michael Wacha and a supporting cast of eventual backups versus the Yankees.
  6. Let's go Romano! Cimber already did the heavy lifting for you.
  7. And if he buries it as he meant to, then he swings over top of it. Missed location, probably because he was concerned about a wild pitch, simple as that, move on. Game is still there for the taking.
  8. Pitch obviously was not good enough, I wonder if he was a little bit gun shy throwing it down given that McGuire missed the last one.
  9. How do we use him? Pinch runner is obvious. If it came down to it, would we rather he have a key at bat or Dickerson? Cavan didn't exactly inspire confidence with his minor league rehab stats. Surely he can't see a minute on the field.
  10. f***ing Red Sox. We're not sweeping the Yankees a second time, going to be tough enough just to win the series and that might not even be enough. Even if we do sneak in it's probably a play in game and then the f***ing wild card game. f***ING RED SOX! One of the most stacked Blue Jays teams of all time and it was f***ing pissed away.
  11. We're still in excellent shape and should be favourites to take the second WC spot, what this series really did is basically confirm the game will be played at Fenway and not Rogers Centre. But now that this game is getting late and in blowout territory, will one of our scrub pitchers please plant one into Kiermaier's spine in his next AB, please and thank you!
  12. The only chance I really see for Vladdy is if he goes ballistic in the three-game series against the Yankees because the eyes of the baseball world will be on that series. Not that they're not paying attention now but everyone will actually be watching those games. Ohtani also has to remain relatively cool until the end.
  13. I think that's what necessitated the gamble on Berrios. We might lose a Cy Young and MVP caliber player in a division that's not going to get any easier. This could very well be the best team we will have for years. When you have a chance to win, you have to take it and not just assume you'll keep coming back to this point. The young players are going to start to get expensive real fast also. Winning windows can be fleeting.
  14. Houston is in the mix. White Sox still tough with that rotation. Hopefully Baz doesn't become a late season Bat Out Of Hell secret weapon for them because I think we might be better than Tampa right now. Red Sox are still potentially terrifying when healthy.
  15. 7 games left against Seattle and 6 games left against Houston. They probably have to go at least 9-4 or maybe even 10-3 if 92 wins is the golden number. That's going to be real tough.
  16. Melvin's insistence on him at a time when your margin for error is nearly gone is shameful. His team escaped...this time.
  17. Montas was cruising at 87 pitches and Bob Melvin went all Kevin Cash and pulled him. At least Cash had a good bullpen. A's don't.
  18. Holy crap I can't believe the last 7 days actually happened.
  19. The white flag has been waved.
  20. Montoyo is lousy, but this middle relief is unmanageable, choke artists up and down, even the guys that are pretty good find a way to choke when the screws get too tight. No balls whatsoever among them. We can't bridge to the closer; the bridge is a blazing inferno.
  21. On first blush it looks like a broken leg, but there's no way he walks off the field even with a limp, so maybe it isn't as bad as it looks, maybe that's just wishful thinking. I was initially concerned about the achilles, all things considered I would take a break over the achilles.
