  1. It hurt at first to see AA leave, but over time I've come to see just how much the farm system and organizational depth was completely depleted under his tenure. Unless Beeston had stayed and been able to persuade Rogers to fork out more money on the free agent market in order to cover the deficiencies on this squad (that are becoming more and more obvious), this season was likely going to unfold in the way we're seeing it now and I am starting to believe that AA saw this coming and split. I don't envy Shatkins; their work is really cut out for them.
  2. Abide with me brother. http://www.pavablog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Titanic-615x334.jpg
  3. 13-2 and 12-2 isn't baseball, it's annihilation and Dickey is up tomorrow. This could get out of hand really quickly.
  4. Yep. I do not discriminate either. I hate everyone.
  5. Fair enough. Probably time like KK said to drop this anyway and just say f*** the Texas Rangers. We can all agree on that!
  6. I'm not so sure. We ran Yunel Escobar out of town on a rail road for this: http://l3.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/MXDeFkJKPtdrNtzONM3TvA--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3NfbGVnbztxPTg1O3c9MjQw/http://media.zenfs.com/en/blogs/sptusmlbexperts/slurescobar2.jpg Would we really be keen to pick up a guy on his third DUI who ran over a pensioner's head and then fled the scene? I like to think we're better than that, but hey......
  7. This is a bit unfair. Bush is a serial offender who's actions clearly continued to degenerate between the time Toronto released him and Texas picked him up. I would not condone any organization taking a flyer on Bush after 2012 and I would have been appalled if Toronto had.
  8. Since the Blue Jays took him for 1 month and then released him for assault, Bush was charged with multiple offenses after driving drunk (again) on a suspended license and running over a 72 year old's head and fleeing the scene, for which he was incarcerated. Texas then sign him up after his release with a rap sheet a mile long. Texas=not classy. That's my point.
  9. Yes and he was released after 1 month immediately after he assaulted a woman at a party under a zero tolerance policy. Point?
  10. Check my clarification. Yes, Texas waited until the last ab of the last game. The fact that Texas has people like Bush and Odor on their team speaks volumes about their organization.
  11. I...don't understand. Bush was also not part of the Texas team that lost to us in Game 5 either, but he was on the mound when he threw at Bautista right? Edit: Perhaps I should have clarified that the Texas Rangers waited until the last ab of the last game?
  12. I would only add to this excellent post that Bautista was on first only and sliding into second because 'DUI' Bush: i) Waited until the last ab of the last game between the two teams to 'settle the score.' ii) Couldn't find a car to run over Bautista's head with before he fled the scene Stay classy Texas and keep defending your thugs like Odor and Bush.
  13. I cannot believe how many people are defending Odor. This guy: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v515660383/laatex-odors-slide-spikes-giavotella-at-second
  14. Having found the right table in fangraphs (hangs head in shame), the Jays bullpen ranks 16th in WAR, 22nd in FIP and 16th in xFIP. It is at best around average and at worst trending downwards. It's hard to pin it all on Storen vs Revere (small sample size), but numerous pitchers have not performed in the bullpen the way we probably all hoped for at the beginning of the season. The really scary part for me is that aside from Osuna and Floyd, everyone else the Jays have used this season is either barely replacement level or worse. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=rel&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=14&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=18,d
  15. I am now deleting my account in shame. Mods, please delete my account.
  16. This is true. Yankees bullpen is first in WAR according to fangraphs and it's not even close (Jays are 11th), although it is interesting to note that the Giants and Dodgers are ahead of the Yankees in FIP (that one's for you NJH) and ERA (f*** you NJH). As for K/9 the Jays rank 19th and in LOB% 13th. http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=RP
  17. Let me make this as simple as I possibly can. Did our bullpen give up the game winning run, regardless of all other circumstances? Did the game end on a home run that a member of the Blue Jays bullpen (Gavin Floyd) gave up to an opposing hitter from the Texas Rangers (Drew Stubbs)? Did this happen last night? Yes or no? Remember, you can only answer with one of those responses.
  18. For f***'s sake. How did the pen blow it? They gave up the game winning run. That's it. Simple. Easy to comprehend. Patently obvious. Utterly transparent. Yes we can argue about Estrada's uncharacteristicly poor start, the stuttering offense, the good work of the pen prior to the home run, the s***** strikezone called by the usual blind ump, but in the end the unalterable, inalienable, undeniable fact is that the bullpen gave up the game winning home run and we lost. Why is this so f***ing difficult to understand?
  19. This board is truly bizarre sometimes in its innate ability to reason speciously, captiously and pointlessly. We have lost 14 of our 19 games by 2 runs or less; this sucks and it's not something that aspiring championship teams typically do. This season particularly it seems we have conspired to lose in strange and painful ways, but if the vocal majority/minority on this board want to take the perceived high ground go ahead, I don't give a f***. I've been around long enough to know that these types of losses, when they start mounting, can have a cumulative effect that is often hard to overcome late in the season.
  20. I...don't know what this means. Plus, wasn't this you a few posts back?
  21. i) Tied it up with 2 homers in the 9th. Had chances to win. Didn't. ii) Pen blew it. Again. iii) We're back to .500 and have lost another 1 run game. Again. Ergo, spirit breaker.
  22. Couldn't we have left Storen or Floyd in for longer? I mean, f***, anyone but Tepera.
  23. Agreed. Was watching the game on MLB at bat and this game was lost for three reasons: a) Leaving RISP yet again (1 for 9). We had chances and we blew them. Ryan f***ing Tepera. f*** is he s***. c) Costly errors in the field (#pray4tulo)
  24. Great win and well done to all who hung in on this thread!
