    C'mon man. What that fan yelled is wrong and there should be consequences for being a c*nt. It's not Duran's fault that Boston also has fans who are c*nts (which every team does - let's not pretend).

    As suspected, we'll be lucky to go 2-4 on this 6 game road trip...

    It's the first inning, the Yanks have a great offense and the Jays offense blows. I think it's a perfectly reasonable decision IMO. You'll let the Jays get 1, but you don't want to give up a big inning.

    It's almost like the saying "it's still too early to panic" is true. Interesting, as there are some here who regularly blame Atkins for not taking action promptly to make changes if they go through a rough patch. I don't think anyone actually thought the Braves were screwed after that slow start. I think we all knew there was a good chance they'd crawl back into it. They're a good team if their SPing can stay healthy.

    We are in NY, so there's probably a good probability that we'll hit a couple of cheap HRs to RF that are only dingers in like 2 of 32 ball parks. If we can't hit HRs in Yankee Stadium, then we are f*cked.

    The Blue Jays are exactly what Carrasco needs to turn his season around and prove he's still a ML starter.

    Remember all the worry this offseason that we needed to upgrade our backup catcher? Pffff - Atkins is a boss.

    Imagine being Schneider and the coaching staff - sitting down and trying to strategize how you get a steaming pile of sh*t to not be a steaming pile of sh*t. They'd probably have as much luck building voodoo dolls of the opposing pitchers and they will moving people around in the lineup. Moving guys who are hitting well up in the lineup to get them more at bats is logical. Changing the lineup because it isn't producing is a desperate plan, void of logic. If it works, it's probably just circumstantial and luck. But that's 100% where we are. Bat Vlad and Taters 8th and 9th - send a message that they're effort to date is unacceptable.

    Because if he's that much of a mental midget, then we shouldn't have signed him in the first place.

    Unfortunately, Bo is the only real player of value we have to trade and help accelerate the much needed rebuild. I don't see any reason to even consider re-signing him. By the time we're in a position to win again, he'll be into a steep decline, hampering our ability to contend.

    I mean SSS, but his statcast page was at least quite red last year. He was able to do damage. But it's ice cold blue so far this year. Any current rosey projection systems must not be taking that type of thing into account. There's almost no signs he's going to turn it around anytime soon. He obviously needs to make some serious adjustments if he's going to stick. The question is - where's the best place to make them.

    I asked this before and was tared and feathered, but is Torkelson back or breaking out finally? Those numbers are starting to stabilize and his statcast page is red hot. Seems like a crazy turnaround from a guy they were considering sending to AAA to start the year, but it's exactly what the Tigers needed to happen. Greene, Carpenter, Tork and Torres is a pretty nice little grouping at the top of their lineup. Fun stat - Tommy Kahnle is throwing his changeup 85% of the time so far this year....

    Looks like Pete Crow Armstrong is having a big breakout season. DeRosa does a nice job breaking down the adjustments he's made here: The kid is an incredible talent and should be a stud in CF for the Cubs for the foreseeable future. Must be nice.

    Cute of Cutch to pretend their season wasn't over before it started, but it was. Fangraphs says they have a 7% chance of making the playoffs right now, which is simply the outside chance that everything that could go wrong, does go wrong in the NL. This is sad, but Cutch might be a guy to help the Jays right now. It's been less pronounced the last couple of years, but he always hit lefties well. Fully expect he's just doing his final lap in Pittsburgh though before he retires.

    I'd be on board with this. Seemingly you need to hit .650+ in Buffalo to become an average platoon bat in the majors. It can't hurt to get Wagner and Roden in an environment where they aren't completely overwhelmed. I must admit that Roden doesn't pass the eye test at all. His wrist/grip seems really unnatural and unconventional, as does this bat path. Obviously there are always outliers, but you don't see many quality big leaguers swing like that.

    Good call by Schneider to try and get Kirk on base with the review. You have such little confidence in him hitting that you're hoping the review team sees the ball clip his shoelace...

    Typical. He'll hit when it doesn't matter anymore (which is going to be quite soon at this pace). Did anyone have confidence he'd get a hit there? I did not.

    Barker was saying on the Fan today that he was talking with one of the Jays hitting coaches about their approach at the plate, asking why the team doesn't hunt fastballs more and the response was "what if they can't hit fastballs?" (or something like that - I'm paraphrasing).
