  1. Did Jose just cement his spot on the level of excellence? I think he did. Stro starts his journey to be there one day too
  2. Thanks man. It was pretty awesome were sitting in the lazyboy together and with 2 outs in the 9th he says "let's stand up daddy". So we stood in the living room and cheered and danced around like a pair of 5 year olds after the last out. My 3 year old boy didn't really grasp what was going on but he started dancing on the coffee table! Special night - all of it combined put me to tears...lets f***ing do this boys!
  3. I'm in the same boat...it hurts, although I did get to watch it with my 5 year old who loves baseball and who really got into the jays is year. Luckily for me, that's truly a night I'll never forget
  4. Just curious if you've ever played competitive baseball.
  5. Just stop man. Hamels just threw Sunday to help them clinch the division and would be on 3 days rest to pitch Game 1. They get him Game 2 and Game 5 on full rest - that's their best option.
  6. That's some terrible assuming sir. Hamels will be throwing Game 5 on full rest if needed - that's a guarantee.
  7. Is this what you bought? Good lord sir. That's tuuuurible. You're correct - you'll never wear that. I do like the idea of putting in a large frame with a bunch of other swag (if we win). I did that following a trip to Day 4 of the Masters a couple of years ago. I bought a sweet picture from the pro shop of the 13th green, added our laminated passes and a couple of balls and it looks amazing. Framing cost like $600 though...
  8. I don't see anything wrong with the Jays selling, or people buying AL East Champions gear. It's awesome and we should be enjoying it - not questioning it.
  9. I see what you did there. He's short and small, so he fits behind the bat. That's. Funny.
  10. Yeah - female curling typically does the job for me too!!!
  11. Perhaps I didn't phase that the best. I was just saying he crushed Donaldson in wRC+......while also having a higher WAR, wOBA, OBP & SLG. I guess technically you're correct and it is double counting....but similarly, isn't it double counting to list RBIs and Runs after saying HRs? I certainly wasn't saying Trout "should" be the MVP because his WAR was slightly higher - my point was he finished higher in most of the team and park related categories, while Donaldson ranked higher in more of the counting stats. IMO - someone saying he finished 0.2 WAR higher is just bad as arguing that Donaldson finished with more RBIs and Runs.
  12. And there goes all day Friday....
  13. playing in the AL shouldn't be held against him. The fact that Harper is significantly better should.
  14. I don't think you're grasping the concept...
  15. Can you imagine how amazing it would be though at Wrigley? I'd love to see a WS game in Chicago...great city.
  16. I don't think you get the point. There's no thread on whether JD has a pony tail or a man-bun either....maybe you should start that too!
  17. I don't understand why so many people struggle with this concept. If the Angels didn't have Trout - are they even close to making the playoffs? Hells no - they'd be awful. He's extremely valuable to his team regardless of whether they make the playoffs or not and that's the definition of MVP. A player shouldn't be ignored simply because the team around him wasn't good enough to make the playoffs. That's dumb (although we all know the voters discount the relevance of players who don't make the playoffs).
  18. Can Albert's not a very good hitter anymore either....
  19. What are Mets tickets going for?
  20. Stro's the 2nd best starter on this team and if starting Game 2 means he can start Game 5 on full rest then this shouldn't be a debate. I'm at Game 2 as well - and hoping to see the Stroshow...because well, he's awesome.
  21. Yikes - was note expecting this!! Thanks for the info.
  22. When are the game times going to be released? I got a ticket to Game 2 and need to book work off!!!
  23. Trout crushed Donaldson in wRC+ (172 to 154), 0.2 higher WAR, higher wOBA, OBP & SLG. Trout was a better hitter (by quite a bit) and overall player (by a slim margin) than Donaldson this year. He loses out on 2 stats which are highly dependant on his team and his hitting environment (note Trout and Donaldson hit .352 and .353 with RISP this year - so Donaldson doesn't get more RBI's by being "clutch"). That said - I think Donaldson will win because voters are swayed by things like counting stats and team success.....that is unless the voters decide Trout can't finish 2nd in the MVP voting for a 3rd time (which is stupid, but some are suggesting it).
  24. I don't understand why people keep talking about HFA and not about the advantage of facing the WC team that can't throw it's best pitcher twice in the series. It's not about HFA - which we may have throughout the playoffs if the WC team takes down the Royals anyway...
  25. +1 - are you making a trip out of it? Spending 4-5 days touring some cities? I love City trips. Either way - I love the effort and support!
