  1. wRC+ 2012 - 127 2013 - 119 2014 - 116 2015 - 109 His WAR spiked in 2015 due to statistical improvements in his defense. Tony Batista hit 32 hrs with 110 rbis in 2004 and he was an effit turrrrible hitter. Unless I fell into my hot tube time machine last night it's not 2001 - we don't (or shouldn't) judge players primarily based on HRs & RBIs.
  2. Jones has been declining as a hitter for 4 straight years now. That's reality and probably doesn't show up in your video game. Cecil and Osuna aren't going to pitch in 100+ games - this isn't a video game. Joe was pitching fine, got a little unlucky and Thole can't catch. Get over it and stop blaming everyone in sight.
  3. Martin's pay cheque isn't going to magically going to turn him into Iron Man. It's utterly stupid to expect him to come into every close game once Dickey is removed from the game.
  4. There were 2 out. Pay attention. And Adam Jones is s*** at the plate overall (wRC+ of 109 last year) and is stone cold to start this year. I had full confident that Joe was going to get him out before Thole forgot how to catch.
  5. It's a 162 game season man. You can't have Cecil and Osuna pitch in every game and you certainly can't play Martin in every game. Dickey's starts are Martin's day off - deal with it. I know this might scare you, but Thole might have to start some games when Dickey isn't pitching too (gaspsss). Martin is old and this team is set up to go deep into the playoffs - you can't just have him sit out 34 Dickey starts.
  6. WTF - he's throwing 93-96 MPH in the commercial. Looks fine to me!
  7. This is what I was thinking....some seem to think our 32 year old catcher can play 162 games a year.
  8. I think there's a good chance this is true...
  9. You're blaming Biagini for a dribbler that gets past him and a past ball by Thole???
  10. I don't F'ing get why he can't do a bit of both...
  11. http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/examaning-matt-moore-aaron-sanchez-via-walk-rate/ http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/joe-biagini-playfully-irreverent-rule-5-blue-jay/ couple of articles on Jays players.
  12. whoa whoa whoa....easy with all those facts Kat.
  13. As someone already pointed out - sinkers to flyball hitters = bad. It's physics. I don't think it's too much to simply ask him to shake it up a bit. Push for the K when you need it, use the 4 seamer vs. flyball hitters, etc.
  14. Um...2004, 2006 & 2007 were the worst years of his career.
  15. And in the best year of his career (Phillies, 2011, 8.3 WAR, lowest ERA, FIP & xFIP of his career) he had a career high K/9 of 8.47...
  16. seriously? you don't see what I'm saying?
  17. I feel like Stro's approach is going to give Buck and Tabby the platform to argue that Jack Morris should be in the HOF...
  18. I must say I was really excited and happy for Thole when he hit that HR in his first start of the season. I change my vote to Zeke - f*** him.
  19. Thole. (edit - f*** I'm a page behind). Zeke certainly gets an honourable mention.
  20. Can someone explain why Dylan Bundy is out of options? Is it because the O's brought him up for 1 2/3 innings in 2012? (ie, the only year he played in the majors before this year).
  21. Let's be clear...not comparing at all. Just makes me remember all those come back fastball's and perfect pitches made on the outside corner. It was a god damn pleasure watching the Braves in the 90's.
  22. JD's do-rag needs to go. So stupid.
