  1. At some point we should expect pitchers to make another adjustment against Smoak and his new approach (just as pitchers are against Judge, who's K% continues to rise). We'll see if he can counter that.
  2. Good question. I wonder if the FO went to him with suggestions on a new approach - or set him up with someone different to help change his approach (which is something you'd do in the offseason). Do they do things like that? or it that type of thing all up to the player? Maybe they just went to him and said they were going to cut him lose unless he made improvements. I'd love to know.
  3. This seems really odd to me for a few reasons. 1. I always assumed he was simply unable to hit curveballs (ala C.Rasmus) because clearly over the past 2 years, he should have been sitting curveball with 2 strikes (adjusting to the fastball). I would have guessed he was simply trying to be more aggressive early when he got the fastball....trying to avoid getting down in the count where they can bury him with curve balls he can't hit; and 2. I suspect it's incredibly hard to sit curveball and "adjust" to the fastball - especially given how much harder pitchers throw these days. I'd expect if this was his approach that we'd see him late on the FB quite a bit. Can't say I've noticed that. Regardless - Just keep doing what you're doing Smoak.
  4. I'm watching Jays in 30. Coghlan can't play LF ever again. Awful. Also - I love watching Rajai Davis run. So exciting, even at his age.
  5. Dick Pole for the win!
  6. Can you not counter sue someone if its proven they falsely accused you of something? I completely agree there needs to be serious consequences for those spreading false claims of this kind.

  8. I don't see anything wrong with her picture... http://i.imgur.com/u9LeeDZ.gif
  9. Remember when Derek Norris could hit?
  10. Tossing the salad. Atta boy.
  11. Zeke being Zeke. He sees nothing.
  12. Not going to lie - I want one of those Grilli aprons...I'll always remember the energy and quality innings he provided for a few months last year. Awesome guy.
  13. That is super weird to watch.
  14. .gif of the year material right there
  15. Chad Green looks filthy.
  16. Isn't that Travis in your avatar? (On phone, small pic) ignore of its not
  17. I don't know - but you need another avatar now.
  18. This. But you can all but assume it's the barney/goins show now. Barney needs to get going
  19. Yeah. I too have a soft spot for the guy. Really happy for him. Hope this isn t a repeat of the season Saunders put up here....
  20. Remember when fans wanted us to bring back Revere this year? -0.9 WAR this year. He's done.
  21. It's ironic, considering most considered Smoak's extension to be the most erroneous decision that Shatkins had made to date.
  22. I still believe there was solid rational behind the Hendriks/Chavez deal too. Circumstances changed, Chavez pitched like s*** and the deal ends up as one of the worst Shatkins made (which is really saying a lot!)
  23. Does this really work? Players that come to mind who've filled through roles are a young Napoli, Evan Gattis, Schwarber (pre knee injury), Jaso? I think they wanted Yan Gomes to be that guy. There was talk of d'Arnaud needing to become that guy because he can't handle catching that much. Unless the player is a really good hitter (wRC+ > 115) - I don't see the point. Most catchers hover around the 100 wRC+ range and thus their bats don't really play elsewhere as you wouldn't expect them to be plus defensively anywhere else (except maybe 1st).
  24. Sorry - The stat probably is "backup outfielders" play on average 162 games in a season - not the classified 4th OFer (point being if you have a good 4th OFer who can play all 3 positions, he's going to play a lot over the course of a season).
