    Forgive those who of us who criticize athletes with all the god given talent in the world to play the sports we love at the highest level - yet can't focus/adjust/mature enough to recognize their opportunities. I think its natural to have a little jealousy. One might argue that Brett's always prioritized himself, which may explain why he is currently unemployed.

    He also sounds exactly like the type of guy who gets plastered and zips around at 3am on the highway in his GTR. Can I criticize him because he's Canadian? He needs to work with a swing coach to eliminate his hitch and start getting the ball in the air more. That should be his #1 priority in life right now.

    I'm with you on this one. I think the issue is a lot of Blue Jay fans are sick of watching people strikeout (Smoak, Upton, Martin, etc.) and feel adding guys who make more contact would help balance the offense - especially come playoff time. I think Upton's awful play after coming to TO last year has also left fans with a bitter taste in their mouth. If you remove all bias - Pagan isn't a lot better than Upton. Between that and the possible emergence of Tellez - I think Shatkins is relatively comfortable where they sit today. If they can add Pagan on the cheap, then great - dump Zeke, if not - oh well.

    The Jays signed 53 international FA's this past year? Am I reading that right? Is that a typical #? If so, I had no idea we signed that many international guys on a yearly basis.

    Appears the car salesman was the first person to actually say no to the kid... It's interesting that he was mature enough to decided he wanted to legally defect from Cuba....yet immediately asks for 10 pimped out cars as soon as he arrives... Is there anything douchier than a young kid in a pimped out ride? Hey look at me! I need attention because I'm insecure and want people to think I'm cool.

    Thanks - I wasn't sure where the Jays sat on that front. The article I saw said most of the typical big spenders won't be able to take a run at him (Jays weren't listed).

    They have this thing called a 'budget' eh. Obviously they'd like a do-over on Smoak, but this isn't the NFL.

    Wasn't it reported that Pagan is holding out for $5M? That's probably a lot more than $1M more than the Jays want to pay.
