    I just took one of those Facebook survey's that's supposed to tell me what political party to vote for. There were 30 questions and I think I felt this way about 29 of them. The scary thing is I bet about 95% of the people who took the survey felt confident in their opinion about 25-30 of the questions and will base their votes on the strong (uneducated) opinions they have.

    I'm always amazing at the strength of some (most?) people's opinion - especially when they have little to no information on the subject matter. It really fascinates me (while also royally pissing me off).

    You're absolutely right. If your plan is to go see the kid live and you're going to place ANY stock in the results - stay the f*** home because that's an incredibly flawed approach. Christ - even interviewing the player is BS because it's so easy to put on the Eddie Haskell face. Do we have any insight as to how teams scout these days? You'd think the best investment would be to watch videos, analysis the results + statcast measurables, evaluate techique/consistency and then speak to people who have coached the kid.

    Honest question. How do you guy form any kind of opinion about whether the Jays should take Kelenic over Swaggerty? Do you just watch youtube videos on them? Personally - I love drafts (in all sports) and for bball and football, I read enough scouting reports and watch enough video that I do form some opinions (like that Josh Allen is a big risk for the Bills). However, with baseball, I don't seem to find the same level of coverage. The most I see are some mock drafts with a little blurb on the player maybe. And I watch a few youtube videos on some of the players the Jays are projected to select, or who they do select. However, there doesn't seem to be breakdowns by position where they debate who the top 10 OF draft eligible prospects are (like they do with all the football positions). Anyone have some good website or tips on how I can educate myself better? Thanks.

    feels like you're setting me up here, but I'll say they should be able to slide head first into the bag. When you say "slightly past the bag" - I assume you mean can their torso to past the bag (not the torso and legs completely). If so, then yes. Personally - I think the rules in place now are perfect. Essentially, players slide into a base just as they would if they were trying to steal that base. They slide with the intent of getting to the base as fast as they can - and with the intent of staying on that base. They can't veer offline, purposely try and make contact with the fielder, or slide way past the bag. Their intent can't be to try and interfere with the defender.

    Fair rebuttal, but the intent of the take out slide isn't to avoid the tag and/or to avoid running past the bag - the intent is to interfere with the defensive player. Your football analogy isn't bad, except tackling players is part of the game. They do have rules to help avoid injuries while tackling. Interfering with players isn't part of baseball (IMO), yet it was allowed all this time even though the rules said you can't interfere. Interfering with a catcher allowed the Cubs to score 2 runs. For me - that isn't proof of anything. The media, teams and players have basically stopped bitching about the rule change. Players have adapted and it's no longer an issue. Personally - I don't miss seeing infielders get blown up at 2nd base one bit.

    Baez and the Cubs didn't like a hard slide by Joe Musgrove into 2nd tonight. I really do hope Madden comes out and says that was a clean - good slide and that Javy Baez should shut the f*** up next time.

    I just really disagree with the notion that take out slide should have ever been part of baseball. Why can I interfere with a player when sliding - but I can't just run right over him? Why does sliding make the play acceptable? Why can't I interfere with a player trying to catch a fly ball (while he's in the running lane), yet I can interfere with him making a throw? It seems so arbitrary. I think it's been prove that baseball doesn't need take out slides (and it never did).

    That - along with strong numbers, would probably make Oh the most value reliever we have. Nobody is going to give us s*** for Clippard, Axford or Loup.

Suggesting the catcher needs to move further away from home plate to avoid the slide? He was nowhere near the plate when Rizzo slide into him (making contact with him before his knee or butt even hit the ground). I just lost a lot of respect for Madden - and Rizzo too (who I used to think was great).

    It's interesting that the K% hasn't really been the big issue for Teo. It's a bloody shame his defense is so awful.

    41 wRC+ -0.5 WAR Absolutely no plate discipline. I don't know how you make that statement besides the facts he had some loud outs. What is this guy going to be? He's going to have to show elite bat to ball skills if he's ever going to be a useful bat. It's looking like his brothers 2017 season might be the best we could expect? 118 wRC+, 4% BB, 11% K

    Anyone hear the ******** on PTS today? They solidified my concern that Sanchez has a massive leash as a starter (from a media perspective). They all agreed that Stro and Sanchez are written in pen as our #1 and #2 starters moving forward and how surprised they are with Sanchez's struggles because he had a good spring training (like that f***ing matters). Those dipshits also think Pillar is the new Trout and scoff at the notion that he will regress to his career norms. Blair thinks Pillar should stay in the 2 hole even when JD returns. That s*** is f***ing unbearable. I was almost happy to see Pillar K 4 times today in the 2 hole.

    Was it Ang who was suggesting that Jose Ramirez is on PED's and will be the next one caught? I remember reading something like that on here. Well apparently those rumors have hit the majors, with a report out that Jose will be the next person to receive an 80 game suspension. Ramirez/Cleveland obviously is denying this. Grab your popcorn.
