I don't get this mentality. The baseball playoffs are a crapshoot. This team was projected to be a last place team, but they put together an incredibly fun season, finishing with 94 wins, an AL East title and a playoff series win. Even if we get swept - EVERY Jays fan should be super happy with the season and excited for what the future holds. There will be work to do this offseason for sure, but we have an owner who's willing to spend and we have a young core of players, plus a guy like Yesavage who we'll get for a full season.
I'm sure you're suggesting it will feel long because this "feels" like a great opportunity to make (or win) the World Series - but you're not giving the Mariners enough credit. Most people felt they were the one team in the AL that worried us - and for good reason. Nobody should be surprised if the M's beat us and nobody should be upset or disappointed by this season - it's been one of the best seasons in recent memory and it was SO much fun to watch.
But this series isn't over - we just need a W tonight.
