    I just read this. Unreal stuff. George Springer over his last 45 games: 66 hits 50 runs 39 RBI 16 HR 9 SB. The only other MLB players to reach all of those numbers over a 45-game span in a single season are Babe Ruth (1920) & Lou Gehrig (1931)

    Do any MLB catchers actually change their stance and revert back to a standard catching position with runners on 3rd? I can't say I've noticed anyone who does. In this case the catcher got his entire glove on the ball. He just missed it.

    What a moronic hill to die on. Almost every single catcher in MLB uses the 1 knee down approach and there is all kinds of data to back it up. It's being taught throughout the game by everyone. Buck doesn't like anything that's different from when he played and always voices his displeasure about it.

    Loperfido has been awful in AAA. His performance for the Jays was grossly inflated by luck (to the tune of a .473 BABIP). I feel bad for Loperfido as he was on a heater with the Jays, but the likelihood of him continuing to be even a solid ML hitter moving forward were never that great.

    Yet we have fans who think Schneider should get someone up immediately after bringing Hoffman into the game... Bullpen management isn't something we have stats on - it's all based on people's perception. I LOVE Gibby, but you have to acknowledge that nobody else in MLB gave him a job as the Manager. If he was this bullpen guru, then I suspect he'd be managing today - or at the very least, would have gotten a shot to manage another team.
