  1. Someone in Chicago has to be saying "what the f*ck guys? We draft Vaughn 4th overall, expecting he'll be a cornerstone for this franchise and after several failed years, we ship him off to the Brewers for almost nothing, just to end the pain and those guys fixed him in like 24 hours and now he's the stud we expected him to become????? #*$&%&#*@*@*$&$_!@#" That would be infuriating.
  2. Nick Kurtz is really lighting up the league with his 181 wRC+ Not as much initial luck for Jac Caglianone with his 29 wRC+
  3. I'm looking for exit velo, barrel %, chase rate, etc., etc. to see if there's been a tangible change in his batted ball profile - something to tell me this might be sustainable. I just checked and his savant page looks really red already (even including his time in Chicago). I'd love to hear what adjustments the Brewers made if any, or what prompted these improvements. It's a really cool story. He was felt to be a can't miss bat and it looks like this change of scenery may have saved his career. If so, what a find by the Brewers - he's exactly the type of power bat they needed.
  4. I'll ask this again. Did the Brewers fix Andrew Vaughan? This guy has been incredible for them. 171 wRC+ and 1.7 WAR in 34 games (142 PA's). Can you filter the savant page by dates to see the difference since joining the Brew Crew?
  5. I don't think playing close to home has anything to do with in-season travel does it? Players don't "go to their offseason home" often during the season anyway do they? I'm just not sure I've ever heard of someone say they chose to play for Cincinnati instead of Seattle because there's less travel and that was a key consideration. Nor have I heard someone who's left Seattle say they won't miss all the extra travel. But I could be wrong.
  6. I'm saying that despite the high walk rate, the results are still generally good to very good. Hoping Pete can help him become a hair more consistent before the playoffs, but I won't be holding my breath. It certainly makes me uncomfortable, but as noted by several others - it is what it is. It's so f*cking nasty that you live with it. We have several bullpen arms who are similar. Everyone should be getting used to it.
  7. I've never thought about it that way before (I haven't thought about realignment much though 😁). I guess that probably makes sense. Make it even all teams/players. I suspect the travel does suck, but you don't hear about players avoiding certain teams because they don't want the extra travel. So it can't be a major factor.
  8. That's brutal (yet good for the Jays and F the O's). You don't see many torn rotator cuffs anymore. I remember that was huge/common back 20+ years ago. I remember growing up worrying about tearing my rotator cuff more than getting TJS.
  9. Since June 1st his FIP is 3.19 and his xFIP is 3.60 with a 13 K/9 and a .188 BAA. The walks are up big time though, which is a concern.
  10. I knew his mechanics looked different....that's a while glove raise.
  11. This is what the Athletic is proposing for new divisions after MLB expansion.
  12. Berrios has 270 games in mlb 269 as a starter Lauer literally started the year as a long man.
  13. Pirates are calling up Bubba Chandler...
  14. It's a good question. No idea what is wrong with Orelvis. He might be broken.
  15. This is silly, nonsensical criticism. Lauer is much more accustom to coming out of the pen. If this mindset was accurate, then they'd move Bassitt to the pen, as he's a FA, while Lauer will likely be in our rotation next year - especially when you can argue Berrios has been better than Bassitt this year.
  16. I mean - it is if he's thrown out by 5 feet with Bregman on deck.
  17. It looks to me like a good throw gets him there. If you send him, you're praying for a wide throw. It's a long throw, so there was a decent chance it's offline (which it was). You also have Bregman coming up next with 2 outs, which does factor into the decision. I don't think it's as erroneous as Red Sox Watcher suggests (although I probably do send him).
  18. This doesn't seem like it will be a major issue for you 😁 (sorry, I couldn't resist - I'm just kidding)
  19. I'll take "Things that Didn't Happen" for $200 Alex.
  20. Honestly - Pittsburgh should just cut him today. Set an example that this type of BS antics won't be tolerated.
  21. Honestly - it's not worth it. Pham's a washed up loser and not worth the effort. We don't need guys suspended or hurt in some melee. That said, I hope he takes one to the jugular that causes permanent damage.
  22. Kenny Powers is built different...He's blessed with many things in this life. An arm like a damn rocket, a c*ck like a Burmese python and a mind of a f*cking scientist.
  23. Pham is a washed up bum who suffers from roid rage.
  24. That's interesting. I guess not surprising though with all the technology we have now. They should be improving. Rob Drake must keep a low profile because I've never heard of him.
