  1. It is just me, or has Rowdy cleaned up his swing path significantly?
  2. To be honest - that's almost impressive. I expected s*** to be all over the place wild. The fact he's pitching in the strike zone is probably a small miracle.
  3. Guerra's a junk baller. He's more comfortable throwing the slider than he is the fastball.
  4. Those burgers on the grill look discussing. Camera man shouldn't show that.
  5. I suspect what he meant to say was "I like to bunt when useless hitters like Urena are up and actual major league batters are due up after them". Of course he can't say that though.
  6. I also noticed this spring (he pitched in the TB v. TOR game I went to) that his mechanics from the windup are different from the stretch. His extension is divine though.
  7. You answered your own question...they don't follow baseball closely. They show up, call what happens, repeat a bunch of useless sayings, mislead casual fans and then they go home.
  8. Do you guys think Goose Gossage pays our broadcast team to pump the benefits of sac bunts? It seems nearly impossible for them to not bring it up and rave the "successful" sac bunt - how they showed the willingness to manufacture runs and give up their at bats. Those twits must have mentioned it 4 times in the post game show. It was such a minor, insignificant moment in the game, yet they can't help but jizz about it. That said - a sac bunt in that situation wasn't an awful idea...but the rational is that Richard Urena sucks. He can't hit and thus a bunt might be his only hope of doing something productive.
  9. Jays - 76 AL - NYY NL - Brewers Yanks bring home the title
  10. That's a fair point. His slider was nasty AF yesterday.
  11. Yeah I thought it was great. Even my 6 year old thought it was cool and like how the MPH were right on the screen.
  12. He only threw the 4 seamer 3 times? am I reading that right? Can't they just show him the stats on the sinker and then stop using it almost entirely?
  13. who let Colonel Sanders throw out the ceremonial first pitch today? Are we promoting KFC?
  14. Look man, bunting 95 MPH pitches in the majors is difficult. Shifts are everywhere in baseball these days and nobody - I mean nobody bunts against them with ANY regularity. Do you think all these players are stupid? Or do you think there's possibly a reason why they don't try push bunts against the shift regularly?
  15. How the f*** is Jon Harris not a bust yet? Warmoth too. Conine I guess you could argue isn't...but he's clearly trending that way. He has massive holes in his swing and now has to sit out the first 50 games for PEDs. I know we all view this s*** different, but identifying a bust IMO is someone who at least has some wind in their sails - someone who people are excited about, who's going to disappoint. Conine is basically knocking on the door - asking if he can come in and join Harris and Warmoth as top draft picks who suck.
  16. Cain 'saved' the save for Hader. Beauty catch
  17. Blair said on his show that he saw Alford having coffee (per the twitter above) and then 2 minutes later ran into Tellez. I can only take about 5 seconds of Blair, so I didn't hear what he said next.
  18. Guys - you can't list Jon Harris, Warmoth and Conine as busts when they are already firmly located in that category to start the season. SirBJay is doing it right suggesting Kevin Smith will be a bust... Just sayin'
  19. JFL19 - grab your lotion https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-day-mackenzie-gore-baptized-mexicos-new-baseball-cathedral/
  20. I think you can expect the Jays will give Gurriel a look at SS if/when Vlady comes up and Drury plays some 2nd base.
  21. speaking of Buchholz - what is the story with him? I'll assume he's hurt, but I haven't heard much lately.
  22. This. He's basically John Axford without the GB%.
  23. Too bad it didn't work out for him. He's probably done. Seems like a nice guy who's always had an electric arm.
  24. I feel like we've been through this. I too would love to watch Thornton, Paulino, Pannone, Alford, Biggio, Tellez, etc. However, the reality is that there are going to be injuries. If you dump or cut all the vets and roll with the youth, when injuries strike, you won't be watching semi exciting young players - you'll be watching fringe prospects or minor league vets get completely over matched in the majors. That isn't fun or good for anyone's development. Did you enjoy watching Scott Kingery play last year? The guy TORE up the upper minors in 2017 (26 Hrs, 100+ runs, 29 sbs) and it was PAINFUL to watch him struggle last year.
  25. boooo - that sucks. I love Olson (for reason's I can't really explain).
