    That's fair. I'll leave it to the experts. I just remember the board discussing the potential upgrades/renovation previously and seat colour was a topic. I think someone did a rendering of what green seats would look like and it was pretty slick.

    I agree with this. The worst seats in the dome are foul territory in left and right field. The seats give you a great angle for....the jumbotron. Reduce the capacity to 42,000 to 45,000 by re-configuring the seats. Make the seats green, install a dirt warning track. I don't hate the dome as much as others. I think you can improve the experience a lot through renovations.

    I've never seen this before. It is glorious. I searched Lenny Randle and he was also the guy who 'blew' a bunt foul on astroturf. Quite a career!

    Yordan Alvarez now has 21 HRs and 62 RBI in 60 games (257 PA's). wRC+ of 190. wRC+ by month is 193, 178 and 198 (June, July, August) Nobody has had any success making adjustments on him. He's a beast who just turned 22.

    How much is Anthony Rendon getting this offseason? 6 years, $180M? This guy is a stud. I know we need pitching and I know we all believe the team won't want to move Vlad to 1st right away, but...

    I think the only argument is in re-draft leagues. Yelich has been better than Trout in every traditional category except HRs (where he's 1 behind). Bellinger has also tied or topped Trout in every category. Acuna would also get consideration for his 40/40 potential. But in a keeper? There's no doubt that Trout is the only choice for #1.

    I don't doubt you one bit, but I'm familiar with clutch scores. I was just looking at wRC+ with the bases empty, men on base and men in scoring position. He's been consistently better with MOB and MISP since 2016. 2019: Empty - 82, MOB - 176, MISP - 187 2018: Empty - 112, MOB - 165, MISP - 143 2017: Empty - 141, MOB - 171, MISP - 154 2016: Empty - 99, MOB - 124, MISP - 127 2015: Empty - 199, MOB - 195, MISP - 163 2014 was pretty ugly with MOB, MISP....maybe he practiced a lot to be better at this 'skill'

    Discrediting WAR because clutch hitting 'may' be real (and that isn't accounted for in WAR) seems incredibly stupid. Prove that 'clutch' hitting is a talent, develop a way to measure it and then suggest it should be added in the WAR calculation. It's my recollection that success with runners on base, runners in scoring position, high leverage situations, etc. generally varies widely from year to year, which suggests it's not a talent. Nobody goes into the offseason with a goal of working on and improving their hitting with runners in scoring position. Nobody 'works' on being a better RBI guy. That said - there are always a few hitters who consistently hit better with runners on base, runners in scoring position, high leverage situations, etc. Harper appears to be that type of guy. I believe Big Papi was also. Poking holes in a stat based on a couple of outliers is pretty dumb - especially when it's pretty obvious that all stats have certain flaws.

    In the VERY best case - Sanchez in the 2020 pen could have become Chris Martin or a Mark Melancon. Firstly, you've have to pay Sanchez $4-$5M to see if he could be that good and secondly, those guys didn't return anything of value as rentals anyway (Melancon has 1 year of control left). Fisher has warts, but keeping Sanchez and making him good out of the pen (if that's still possible) wasn't going to net you some stud prospect either man.

    Isn't he a SS? Wouldn't his defense be well above Pedroia's? Also - without any power, won't his BB% drop significantly in the majors?

    What do we think Nick Madrigal will be? The 22 year old has gone from A+ to AA to AAA now. wRC+ of 150 in AA (180 PA's), but otherwise it's always been like 105-115. Great contact hitter, but almost no power at all. Good defense, good speed. Anyone have a good comp? Would you be happy if the Jays got a player like this with the 4th overall pick?

    August wRC+ numbers Vlad - 198 Bo - 151 Jansen - 121 Grichuk - 144 Teo - 109 (158 in July) McKinney - 154 McGuire - 115 Add in a healthy Gurriel and squint when you look at Biggio's plate discipline, hard hit %, LD%, etc. and it's not that difficult to see why the media, who've had to endure this god awful season, are going to talk up this offense. Also - Outside of Vlad and Bo - you're saying the offense hit s***** pitching and didn't succeed v. Kershaw, Buehler and Meada? Stop the f***ing press! Next on the 6 pm news. New research has confirmed that water is wet.

    Tellez has always had relatively high BB% and relatively low K% for a power hitter. I'm not sure he needs an 18% BB rate to be good, but he does need to close the gap. 8-9% BB and 18-20% K would really make things interesting.
