  1. Wow - that's a ton of money for Kim, but I do think there's a good chance he rebounds and is a solid player if he's healthy again.
  2. I just don't see where that market is at age 32. Nobody wanted to sign him long term last offseason either. I guess I could see a 5 year deal. I don't want the Jays involved at that term.
  3. oooof - that's not much less than Bo will get and Bregman is entering his age 32 season. He's a great player, but I'd much rather have Bo on age along. If you could get Bregman for like 3 years $90M - he'd be a good fit. He fits the profile we like (contact skills, good defense).
  4. What's Bregman going to get?
  5. Francys Romero reports that the Phillies are signing Adolis García to a one-year, $10 million contract, pending a physical. It looks like the Phillies have replaced Nick Castellanos before the inevitable trade that will ship him out of town. García, the 2023 ALCS MVP, is coming off back-to-back down seasons, but he has a Gold Glove in his past and 30-home run power, so perhaps moving to Philadelphia could help him recapture some of that magic. It certainly hasn’t helped his cause that Globe Life Field has been about as tough of a ballpark for right-handed hitters as any in the league the last couple of years.
  6. I think the boys are picking on you again. We know this is a sore spot.
  7. It must be difficult to gauge whether a player will be able to adjust or not with any type of confidence...
  8. Based on the contracts handed out to date, I'm not sure I see Tucker getting 11 years or $400M. My gut says Bo won't exceed $200M either. If he does, it's certainly low $200M's I think Tucker is the better player and better fit for the team; however, I do get stuck on the nostalgia of keeping Bo. He's been such a rock for this team for a long time.
  9. I hope this works out. I do like having different angles and stuff, but I have a hard time giving 3 years $39M to a guy who's 35 and throws 82 MPH. Suarez for $6M more seems like better value/upside.
  10. 2 years $23M for a guy with 102 wRC+ and 0.8 WAR projections as a platoon player? AA - you OK bruh?
  11. Yeesh - good for the Polar Bear. But f*ck the O's
  12. Can we get Suarez on a 2 year deal for $17-$18M AAV? I think that would be a good fit.
  13. He has to be happy with the results he had in Detroit and he has a path to save opportunities if he performs and they want to use Vest in the fireman role. This one seemed like a no doubter.
  14. Steven Matz to the Rays - 2 years $15M
  15. Gregory Soto to the Pirates - 1 year $7.75M
  16. Kyle Finnegan back to the Tigers - 2 years $19M
  17. I assume he means Robert...
  18. Yeah - someone just noted this when summarizing a JS press conference today. Better get Schwarber hooked on that "all fields" approach.
  19. Baseball gods - do your thing...
  20. I agree with this. He had a little Stro in him, which rubbed some people the wrong way - primarily when he stopped being good of course. He had a difficult upbringing and seemed to play with a chip on his shoulder. 2023 was such a bizarre season. He/they kept claiming there was nothing wrong physically, despite the horrendous results. I assume you're suggesting that's when he actually was hurt? He seemed to be turning the corner a bit in 2024 until the elbow blew out. I do wonder if his ego played into his release at all - or if they just had major doubts he'd ever be effective at the ML level again. I originally thought it might be the former, but after Atlanta cut him loose, I suspect it might be the later.
  21. It was an A for effort, D for execution moment. If only he went with "Tires feel pressure - I don't"
  22. A lot of us were keen on him last offseason. Great to see him stay relatively healthy the past 2 years. If he can find a way to suppress the HR/9, he likely still has some upside. Nice little signing for the DBacks.
  23. I preferred reading his summary over opening up another link.
  24. Elly is moving to the OF?
