  1. I'm do disappointed in myself. I'll be in the corner.
  2. To be fair to the O's - this would be like Dwight Smith Jr. transforming into a legit regular.
  3. He's not wrong. Biggio was an inch away from us getting out of it without giving up a run. I personally love his shot at Vladdy here - who didn't make the play at 1st. Wouldn't it be nice to hear that Vladdy is putting in a ton of extra time at the diamond working on his defense at 1st?
  4. I think the FO / high performance team is dictating this personally.
  5. Joe Kelly is a ****. Wasn't he on the 2018 Red Sox that were also punished for cheating? Will he throw at the batters from that team too?
  6. Yeah it was like they were obligated to do it, but nobody really cared. I'm not even 100% sure Joe Kelly was doing any of it on purpose. His command was just s***. I think he was frustrated in himself and then at the Houston players for the looks like he was doing it on purpose so he got worked up.
  7. 4 2/3 ip 3 h 2 er 3 bb 7 k 79 p
  8. Vetrin prezints bruh There is no room for him and Drury. Charlie needs to realize the chance of finding another Sogard is like 1/25.
  9. 5th game of the season and 1/3 of our lineup is hurt. Lovely.
  10. Emilio Bonifacio? holy f***.
  11. Nah, it's not that simple. Pitchers can definitely try too hard - or try to be too fine in certain situations if they know there's no room for error. That usually compounds into other issues. I f***ing love analytics as much as the next guy, but there's still some human component to it and this is a good example of it. I've pitched in a men's league for the past 20 years. I realize it doesn't effect everyone the same, but it happens and it probably happens more in younger players.
  12. How the f*** does this work? You can't just not show up for games.
  13. I saw the Marlins claimed Justin Shafer yesterday. He must be thrilled.
  14. That was my thoughts. What a s*** show.
  15. Agreed. I'd also be fine with a Thornton/Borucki piggyback as the 4th starter. Ryu, Pearson, Shoe as the 1,2,3 and Roark/Anderson has inning eaters available if/when injuries arrive.
  16. Gibby 3.0 would be legendary. Billy Martin s***. If we ended up winning the WS with him as coach - he might end up on the level of excellence.
  17. Is Craig Kimbrel done? He was on pace to becoming one of the best closers of all time, but appears to have fallen off the cliff unfortunately.
  18. I know what you're saying and I thought the same thing myself. However, when the other guy is out there dominating and putting up zero's - it's very difficult not to feel added pressure to be perfect and keep your team in the game.
  19. How many Astros have been HBP this year?
  20. Odd - he came on strong in the second half last year....over 57 innings 8.6 K/9 2.6 BB/9 3.77 FIP 4.19 xFIP Must have arm issues.
  21. Some random thoughts: 1. Biggio's consecutive game on-base streak ended tonight at like 33 games or something. 2. Great to see Jansen having success with the bat early on. He's going to be a cornerstone of this team. 3. Nice to see Tellez get off the schneid. 4. So good to see Teo driving it oppo. 5. Based on the eye test, Thornton, Borucki, Romano and Bass all look like legit arms. 6. I'm still fairly optimistic that Dolis will turn it around. 7. Espinal seems like a fun player. I hope he succeeds, but doubt he will.
  22. Maybe he reads the message board. Someone on here suggested it and Tellez shaved it off the very next day!
  23. Do the recent changes in the way the game is managed (shifts, openers, increased bullpen use, etc.) change this? I mean sure - back when you never shifted, ran your starters (good and bad ones) out there through the lineup 3 times, set & forget lineups, set roles in the bullpen (setup man, closer), etc....but these days it seems like there's a lot more decisions and options. Maybe because the decisions are so analytical based, all the managers generally do the same things? Maybe you can argue that 'back in the day' they did stuff like call steals and do hit and runs more? Just curious.
  24. He could have taken that 60 foot change up though...just sayin'
  25. Nationals Park is really nice.
