He's looking pretty legit these days fellas. I don't know if it sticks, but kudos for him for his hard work - he's lost a ton of weight, improved his body, his defense, his speed and his swing path - all while overcoming a very difficult time with the loss of his mother.

    It's still incredible that Sosa had a 93 wRC+ the year before he hit 66 HRs on route to a 159 wRC+ season.

You can't even sort career WAR by hitters/pitchers or by position. Awful platform.

    Right - I'm dumn. Please everyone, point and laugh at me. I still think it's a stretch to think he'd be able to hit at the ML level right now (the non-joking part of his post).

    When we're comparing him to the best power hitter in baseball - I thought it was relevant. Soto's ISO in A+ ball was .419 (SSS). Vlad's ISO in A+ ball was .161 and his career major league ISO is .168 in 659 PA's.

    C'mon man. That's reckless. Kirk is 12 days younger than Soto - who's currently a top 3 (1?) hitter in baseball. Kirk's a fat catcher in A+ ball with an ISO of .159. By all accounts he has a special bat, but it's still highly probable he isn't ready to hit ML pitching yet.

    I didn't even realize Martin wasn't in the majors. Jansen looked awesome in spring training this year. I had high hopes. The BB% is excellent this year. The BABIP is incredibly low. He probably is better than he's showing right now, but it is looking more like he won't be a lead average bat behind the dish. Kirk has 276 PA's in A+ ball and is 21 years old. I don't think it's reasonable to expect he can succeed in the majors. Jansen lit up all levels of the minors in 2017 and had a wRC+ of 146 in AAA in 2018 (360 PA's) and he can't hit at the ML level at age 25.

    I didn't know Tepera was still alive. He's pitched pretty well so far this year.

    Sad stuff. I was looking at Seaver's numbers today. Pretty spectacular. I was kind of surprised to see that Bert Blyleven had 10 more career WAR than Seaver. It really is remarkable it took baseball so long to get Bert into the HOF.
