  1. Last 2 outs were hit hard and the first hit was just good hitting on a solid curveball low and away. Looks like it was washed up ex. Blue Jay night at the park - facing Sanchez and Carl Edwards Jr.
  2. Keep in mind that Moreno got a late start to the spring. They may want him to complete 'spring training' in AAA before he comes up. Not sure how long he has to stay down to gain another year of control, but I agree, we can't be starting Collins or Tyler Heineman.
  3. Garver made no attempt to maintain contact with the bag and it looks like he made an effort to 'pop up' and further interfere with the 2nd baseman (typically a pop up slide happens when you slide into the bag, which stops your momentum....in this case, Garver slides over the bag, so he shouldn't naturally pop up). He also doesn't slide right into 2nd as it's clear he's trying to slide into the 2nd baseman, while 'catching' the bag on the way by. I believe he went into 2nd with the intent of interfering with the 2nd baseman and support that ruling. That said - this is definitely a borderline call and rules that have interpretation in them will also have that grey area where people argue both ways. No different then that right handed batter running to first on a bunt up the 1st base line and whether he's in the base path or not. At the end of the day, this rule was the right call by MLB and I personally think it's improved the game. I can live with people bitching about a borderline call here or there (and really - how many calls have been questioned by this board over the past 2 years? Not many at all IMO). Without that rule - there's a good chance that Bo doesn't even attempt that throw yesterday - and if he does, he might now be on the 60 day DL as it looked like a carbon copy of the Utley/Tejada play.
  4. That reminded me of the Utley/Tejada play years ago. I'm so glad that ******** is gone from baseball so we can see amazing defense like that.
  5. Espinal was worth 2.2 WAR in only 246 PA's last year with almost no power at all...if he legit can drive the ball even 'a bit' this year, then he could really unlock something special. 4-5 WAR? It's still super unlikely to happen, but still fun to consider.
  6. Yeah this seems really stupid unless they don't think Collins can catch at all...otherwise just start Biggio and have Collins as the backup catcher - keep Palacios
  7. Is Kwan a legit prospect? Michael Brantley comp?
  8. Why do you say that? Just because we already have Moreno has catching depth at AAA?
  9. I'm with TL on this. I don't think the lineups are under Charlie's control.
  10. Just seemed odd to list him ahead of Mayza and even Richards given his late season results and spring training results.
  11. I found Charlie's post game interview interesting. Asked about Stripling, he says something about his inning was huge, shut them down - but then he says once they tied it, they had to go to their scripted bullpen arms - Merryweather, Cimber, Garcia, Romano. I wouldn't have thought Merryweather would be in any scripted bullpen situation...
  12. 1 inning from Stripling? I don't get it
  13. I love how Buck is convinced teams will shift less on the Jays this year. f*** me - don't talk.
  14. This start is sure going to sober up the casual fans who came to party...Not that I feel sorry for them.
  15. Feels like a good game to let Thornton throw until his arm falls off so we don't have to ever see him again.
  16. I love how nobody told Buck this is a new turf setup...
  17. yes - they have a new one apparently and added Ukraine to it.
  18. This makes me f***ing emotional. I wasn't that hyped or that excited all day - had a busy day at work and just got home at like 7. But now that I have the game on watching the introductions, I feel like a 12 year old kid. I'm clapping and I'm completely jacked up. This season is going to be incredible.
  19. I won't lie. Seeing the Rogers Centre sold out is the first indication for me that things are 'almost' back to normal...It is incredible.
  20. Manoah should have brought his own ball to get the Sarah Nurse to sign. Missed opportunity.
  21. And that big mop of dreadlocks he had.
  22. Good idea to pick up some CF depth if you ask me. Zimmer sucks, but at least he can play CF.
  23. Masters and Opening Day....what an incredible day for sports!
