  1. We'll certainly see. Worked out beauty for Minny with Jefferson. Deep draft, but you need to 'hit'.
  2. This has been an insane offseason. re: Hill & Adams, the list of WR's who excelled after the age of 29 is REALLY short. I think Hill is a year younger than Adams, but it will be interesting to see who comes out on top with these trades.
  3. oh - well that explains it.
  4. I'd be curious to dig into this a bit more and find out if fans 'say' they don't like this change - but does that opinion actually show up in their actions. Ever checked the stands in the 14th inning of a Tuesday night game? Based on my experience, a lot of people will hang around for the 10th inning, but it thins out pretty damn quick after that. No idea if they can track this, but I'd love to know how many fans turn the game off after 9th or 10th inning. And I believe polls will also show you that baseball continues to lose fans because the game is too long/slow - hence all the changes to speed the game up. As noted above - I'm surprised you're not more upset over losing the DH in the NL. I suspect polls will tell you that fans hate this decisions and LOVE seeing pitchers hit .105/.126/.210 because bunting is super exciting. Polls would also tell you that fans hated the idea of eliminating the take out slide and running over catchers because violence is fun to watch.
  5. No offense, but fans are dumb and people naturally hate change.
  6. I doubt anyone wants to give up a comp pick for 1 year of Conforto. Teams probably want him for 2-3 years, or with team options or something and he either wants $100M multi year deal, or a 1 year $20M deal
  7. MLB Network WWW.FACEBOOK.COM Thoughts on the fans' top 10 relievers? #Top10RightNow - Tuesday at 8pm ET Apparently MLB fans believe Aaron Loup is the 4th best relief pitcher in baseball.
  8. Did anyone look into this? I think it said if the 500 level is closed, then you'll get a ticket in the 200 level? Can you transfer tickets to other family members?
  9. So you grandfather follows the Utah Jazz?
  10. Seattle...
  11. Buck and Tabby doing the game?
  12. visa issues.
  13. That ball was crushed. Vlad still looks thicc, though
  14. I get all that. I mean there were rumours the A's wanted Volpe in any deal for Olson and that just doesn't seem to compute with what they actually received. I know the defensive value helps, but WAR is WAR. I'd give up Orelvis, Kirk, Pearson and Biggio for 4 years of Ramirez, but not 2.
  15. I just read that Rodgers knew Adams would never play for the Packers again when he signed his deal. Fingers crossed for another Diggs/Jefferson situation again in a very deep WR draft.
  16. Packers deal D.Adams to the Raiders? WTF. This FO sure knows how to piss off Aaron Rodgers. Think they'll fail to draft a WR (or 2) again this year just to show him who's boss? I hear there's another below average blocking TE to be had in the 3rd round this year that will be tough to pass up on.
  17. I think you're pushing it. He's projected at 5.8 WAR and has only been over 6.5 WAR once, which was inflated by big time BsR numbers, which he's unlikely to ever repeat again. I guess if you squint you might extrapolate his 2020 season over a full season to get 7+, but I think 5.5 to 6.5 is more likely. He's still a GREAT player
  18. Martinez, Biggio, Kirk and Pearson seems like a f*** TON more than the Braves gave up for 2 years of Olson. I know Ramirez is better (projected 1.4 WAR better this year after being 1.3 WAR better last year). Braves didn't give up a Top 100 prospect for him (and yes I know Pache used to be). Wouldn't Groshans and Kirk be viewed better than Pache and Shea Langeliers to make up the difference in talent from Olson to Ramirez and be the core of the deal? Add in some pitching flyers (probably Ricky Tiedemann, maybe Van Eyk or Adam Kloffenstein). I see no way we should have to give up Pearson and Martinez. We'd keep Biggio who could platoon with Grichuk at DH (or in other positions to let guys DH) and you keep Pearson who we need this year and next. Giving up a Top 35 prospect (Martinez), a former Top 10 pick (Pearson), a guy projected to be the 2nd best hitting catcher in baseball (Kirk) and someone who had 3.7 WAR over his first 159 games (before a horrible 2021 full of injuries and playing out of position) seems like WAYY more than the Braves had to give up. I understand there are different factors from the selling team, but there's no way I give up those 4 right now.
  19. Dude - we aren't DFA'ing those 3. Those are a key component of our AAA starter depth (along with Francis, Stipling and Pearson). We already lost depth in Logue. Typically need 8-10 starters to get through a season.
  20. Ah - I thought that was a COVID rule that disappeared, but I could be wrong. Still - it seems unlikely we'd roll with a 3 man bench doesn't it? won't our 26th person be a bench guy? (Grichuk, Espinal, McGuire + ???). That's assuming we're going to use Kirk as the DH regularly and thus will carry 3 catchers. I don't know - maybe there is room for another pen arm, but it's tight!
  21. Not sure we really have room for another bullpen arm Locks or Can't / won't be optioned: Romano Cimber Richards Garcia Stripling Mayza No options remaining: Borucki Other options: Merryweather Vasquez Pearson I just can't imagine that if Pearson is throwing well that we'll put him in AAA and I see him as a huge part of this team. And if Merryweather is healthy and throwing well - I can't believe we're going to let him waste bullets in AAA. I guess that leaves 1 spot available if we are just going to cut Borucki. It seems almost guaranteed without adding anyone that Vasquez is going to AAA. I guess I could see us optioning Richards And this is all assuming an 8 man bullpen - which doesn't happen unless we're going with a 3 man bench (13 pitcher, 12 position players). I just don't think there's anyway we are adding Kenley Jansen right now. I hope we hold back some payroll flexibility and add to the pen if it becomes required during the season.
  22. what's the story with Baerga - is he trying to be a reporter now? Or he's just bored in retirement, so he tried to stick his nose in and get leads and posts s*** on twitter.
  23. um...nobody? Between 4th OFer and DH, he'd have plenty of at bats on this team. I'm fairly confident he's also better than Gurriel (except for the month or 2 each year when Gurriel gets red hot).
