  1. For f*** sakes - can we talk about this and NOT about the Red Sox's system? Thanks.
  2. Just buy her a poutine dog instead, while reminding her to save room for the hot beef injection after the game
  3. Agree with all of this.
  4. This looks like the cheat code glitch in MLB The Show '23. Low and in sinkers - can't hit it.
  5. Yes. And of course mine was f***ing RED - barf. At least this Friday you get a nicer powder blue one, but it will have TD or some other sponsor on the arm. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing it. EDIT - maybe I'm wrong (shocked they give you something without a sponsor logo on it though). The red jersey burns my retinas. f*** those things. I remember getting hats at another game with a TD logo on it.
  6. I'm pretty sure last year we showed up about 2 1/2 hours before the Springer jersey giveaway game and the last ones were handed out right before we got in. Kids were thrilled with that. To be honest - it's not f***ing worth it. The jerseys are like XXXL and are garbage. I'll never stand in that bloody line again when I can buy knock off jerseys (that fit) for like $50 online. I'd probably spend $150 to just buy a jersey than show up that early again and waste so much time for one.
  7. Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette reports the Pirates and outfielder Bryan Reynolds are in agreement on an eight-year, $106.75 million contract extension. Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic adds that the deal includes a team option for 2031 and doesn't include any opt outs. After months of back-and-forth negotiations, the saga appears to finally be over. Reynolds is staying in Pittsburgh through at least 2030. The 28-year-old outfielder, who had two arbitration-eligible seasons left with the Pirates, has gotten off to a strong start this season at the dish, batting .294/.319/.553 with five homers, 18 RBI and three stolen bases across 94 plate appearances. He'll be one of Pittsburgh's foundational building blocks until further notice. Nice to see Pittsburgh spending some money.
  8. This is really accurate. Zero contribution to anything else except to complain about players who aren't performing and claiming you knew they sucked. If the Jays are losing, we know exactly which forum members are going to appear and start bitching with little to no substance.

Oh yeah? I think they told you to choke on a bag of veiny dicks tonight...
  10. I was out tonight and missed the game. What's up with Bassit?
  11. Well it's finally a done deal....I think it's a win for both sides really. Jets acquired QB Aaron Rodgers from the Packers. In addition to Rodgers, it appears the Jets are receiving the No. 15 overall pick and a fifth-rounder. For their part, the Packers receive the 13th, 42nd, and 207th selections in this year's draft and a conditional 2024 second that would become a first if Rodgers plays more than 65 percent of the offensive snaps in 2023. Rodgers and the Packers burned numerous bridges this offseason after the two had been gradually falling out over the previous three seasons, leaving the proverbial door closed on a return to Green Bay. The Jets get their aging veteran quarterback while the Packers move forward with former first-round draft pick Jordan Love. Initial reports indicated the hold up on the deal was New York's 13th overall pick in this year's draft, making the inclusion of a non-performance-protected 2024 conditional first-round pick a significant win for general manager Brian Gutekunst and the Packers.

I thought it was obvious we aren't talking about the Canada v. Jamaica games ffs. And of course we're talking about when the NHL players participate. The 2010 Golden Goal game was f***ing incredible. OK perhaps we should have clarified that.
  13. I think his viewership was really low. Like 44th rated program or something - just 400K viewers. Carlson had like 3.1M viewers I think. They'll just be replaced with new puppets to tell lies that suit their station's political agenda.
  14. I mean I'll try and stay optimistic, but I think this is something I want to forget about.
  15. Holy f*** that sounds ridiculous. How f***ing long is Cone washing his hands? If alcohol 'activates' the rosin more - then it sounds like that's exactly why they use it.
  16. Orioles promoted SS prospect Jackson Holliday to High-A Aberdeen. The Orioles continue to be very aggressive with their handling of the top-overall selection from last year's MLB Draft, sending him to High-A after just 13 games at Single-A Delmarva in which he batted .392/.523/.667 with two homers and three steals across 65 plate appearances. The 19-year-old top prospect was always expected to move quickly, but he's on pace to reach the upper minors by the end of the year, which is pretty remarkable.

Actually - that's a really good way of putting it. It's the highest level hockey v. the highest competition. It's f***ing fantastic hockey. I guess the issue is the NHL doesn't have enough talent for teams to play playoff games like the Olympics are played. Instead we need to have discussions about adding Wayne f***ing Simmons back into the lineup so he can help fight useless players like Jeanot and Maroon.

I'll complain whenever I want Spanky. I watched a guy cross check a player in the throat/neck twice in a row with no call. I just don't think hockey needs that to be compelling and exciting. I understand players can't play at this level for the 82 game regular season - they would be dead and I do like a bit more physicality in the playoffs, but to simply allow all the stick work seems unnecessary.
  19. I think that's a given. The team will do everything they can to keep Mitch White off this team as long as the injury bug doesn't bite.
  20. Help me understand this. He goes to the clubhouse, watches his hands, applies alcohol - all clean. It made it sound like he then applied the rosin again right away. Wouldn't you watch your hands again after using alcohol and dry them off and there'd be a period of time before you apply the rosin? Is it correct that alcohol and rosin are stickier than water/sweat and rosin? I wonder if pitchers have been adding alcohol in the clubhouse right before they come out for an inning - not drying it off... At the end of the day, if rosin is this sticky with sweat/alcohol, then surely that should be fine to satisfy claim that batters actually want pitchers to make sure they have a good grip.
  21. Perhaps posted already, but Shane McClanahan had 32 whiffs on 88 pitches yesterday. First pitcher in the statcast era to have 30+ whiffs in <100 pitches.
  22. I would love to see Pittsburgh become good again.
  23. Mookie is one of the very best athletes I've ever seen. Guy can do it all.
  24. Maybe they are wearing hearing aids so they can hear the pitch-com voice from the catcher...
