  1. Good call by Schneider to try and get Kirk on base with the review. You have such little confidence in him hitting that you're hoping the review team sees the ball clip his shoelace...
  2. Thank god for George Springer. What a player. So happy we're going to waste his dead cat bounce.
  3. Typical. He'll hit when it doesn't matter anymore (which is going to be quite soon at this pace). Did anyone have confidence he'd get a hit there? I did not.
  4. Barker was saying on the Fan today that he was talking with one of the Jays hitting coaches about their approach at the plate, asking why the team doesn't hunt fastballs more and the response was "what if they can't hit fastballs?" (or something like that - I'm paraphrasing).
  5. He's hitting 0.067 with a -29 wRC+ while playing RF. You think playing 3rd may take away from his offense?
  6. yes, exactly. If the projection systems had eyes, they'd change their tune.
  7. Can/should we give Barger reps/starts at 3rd base?
  8. I'm being serious. You're a smart guy and I value your opinion. We're 24 games in (15%) - what's your gut say the chances of this team making the playoffs is? I appreciate the baseball is highly variable and subject to change quickly, but I think it's a pretty bleak outlook moving forward. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing what we can get when we trade Bo.
  9. and Steamer says Kirk's a 120 wRC+ hitter
  10. I assume the season being "over" would mean we don't make the playoffs. What's your guess on the probability the Jays make the playoffs right now? Less than 20%?
  11. That sounds about right. Par of the course with this team.
  12. There are certainly several other areas to direct your concerns to than whether or not Vlad will hit.
  13. We might be lucky to get to 2-4 on this road trip. Yikes
  14. Remember the quote from the new hitting coach? Something about how he was preaching violent aggression or some bullsh*t. My personal opinion was the team decided to target players with better hit tools, figuring that's the hardest thing to teach. They can help them with launch angles and help them add power (which typically happens as they reach their prime). They probably think the hit tool is more effective against the high velo world we now live in. In theory, it doesn't seem like a terrible approach. But it is. It f*cking blows goats and isn't working.
  15. I heard he was wore out from walking to the plate and then walking back to the dugout.
  16. Good use of the word. I think we all feel despondent about the Blue Jays.
  17. Bassitt is due for a dud unfortunately. In a time where we simply can't afford for it to happen. Awful position to be in right now.
  18. I think we'll be lucky if Taters ever posts a wRC+ > 115 in any of his 5 seasons in Toronto. I don't think he's very good. I'm happy we didn't pay a lot for him, but I don't think he can be the 3rd best hitter on a winning team.
  19. Are you new? or did you used to use another username?
  20. It wasn't announced when I made that post either. I was just suggesting that would be the right move - and bam - Jays announced it like an hour later.
