  1. Pillar would have to STFU and move over to LF and give us an insane upgrade in outfield defense.
  2. The thought of us doing something is very exciting. The thought of us doing something like paying a premium to acquire Fiers is very underwhelming.
  3. I remember last offseason I was hoping that if we were dealing Bautista I wanted Piscotty + Wong + Martinez/Miller. Curious to see how he performs.
  4. The problem I see is that from a pure baseball perspective we shouldn't be going after someone like Hamels. However considering that 1) AA knows his ass is on the line 2) Beestons last year (he mouthed off how many times we were going to make the playoffs) 3) Bautista and company will bitch up a storm and probably demand trades which would set off a series of events that would lead to a semi dismantling of the offense I think AA will have no choice but to make a deal as its closer to the status quo by keeping as many people content as possible and hope for the best.
  5. Proven 4 WAR pitcher with 3 years of control at a possibly reduced salary for a maybe 4 WAR pitcher and major league outfielder. Potential is great but we need performance now if we want to make the playoffs (not saying we should do it)
  6. He cited that the Phillies really need outfield, pitching and specifically catcher depth. I wonder if we could swing something like Norris + Pompey + Pentecost + lesser piece(s) for Hamels, Papelbon and some salary relief.
  7. He did also say the Phillies want to get good players back and they will pay money on the deals if they have to. I might pay a nice package for Hamels at $15 million per year as opposed to $23.5
  8. I just heard him on the radio. He also said he doesn't know if the jays farm system has enough to pull off a deal for him.
  9. We aren't knocking him, were knocking the idea of re-signing someone to a multi-year deal based on a couple of starts.
  10. Quick lock up Colabelo 2 weeks ago while we are at it!
  11. It sure is fun to go back to the start of this thread and start reading.
  12. No sir, last game I was at I got thrown out because 4 douches with their shirts off were mouthing off all game and when I asked them to calm down because of the kids in the area they told security on me and I got thrown out of the game.
  13. I rarely post so I don't have a chance to act like I know everything.
  14. Until they ask a question the group deems stupid and are ridiculed into not posting since its more important that we adhere to a strict collective thinking than having discussions on a message board
  15. How about we place Some blame on the players who are actually determining the outcome. Loup needs to quit being so s*** and the team has to do a better job being patient with runners in scoring position rather then going up hacking at s***.
  16. Well as often is the case with the Jays, It comes down to money and K-Rod is the cheaper option both in terms of dollars and what it will cost to get him. I wouldn't however be looking at adding him as "adding a closer" as much as adding another good right handed pen arm that can get strikeouts in tough situations late in games.
  17. If Sanchez can't pitch his next start, they will probably just put him on the DL which is retroactive back to his last start so he could then be brought back for his next turn without any hiccup and allow Copeland to be recalled.
  18. 4.97 SIERRA in the majors > AAAA trash
  19. Because thats how execs operate...
  20. It would certainly be a more cost effective than trading for Papelbon.
  21. He gets a pass from me for this seasons performance after coming off TJ. As long as he stays healthy I am happy with him.
  22. Probably both. He has no losses and an ERA just above 1 afterall...
  23. I wonder what hes asking for Papelbon then...
  24. I have nothing against Gibby and I think hes fairly decent as a manager with his in game decisions but at this point he needs to be fired for the sake of making a change before being forced to dismantle the team at the deadline.
