  1. Congrats to Beane, I thought the Butler signing was a mistake. It hasn't been so far. The Mariners won the lottery signing Cruz. I thought he would go into steep decline this year, but certainly not so far.
  2. This whole team is a whole lot more likeable this year. I loved Travis is ST, and he's fast becoming my favourite player. I'm just wondering how he will handle his first slump.
  3. If they ate most of the contract, could Hamilton fit into the Jays plans somehow
  4. Hosmer looks like he's 12" taller than Lawrie. lol
  5. Still love Lawrie, keeping his cool after getting revenge smoked by a 100 mph pitch, and the Royals baiting him all the way to first. http://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/748441
  6. And papa Rasmus. Both in consultancy roles.
  7. Yunel sucks and Alvarez might need TJ. With a time machine go back and pluck better players.
  8. This comment better have 25 'thanks' by the end of the day or everyone is dumb. Not really.
  9. I'm lost, who the hell is Boyd?
  10. Yeah, it's like every game I'm expecting something to happen. I don't know what you do. If he plays ~ 120 games a year (allowing for 42 games down with injury) he still prolly accrues a 2 WAR or something. Goins can play all the games he's hurt. Maybe Goins bat will come around a bit, making him a plus WAR SS whenever Reyes is down. Would PT Reyes and Goins give you 2+ WAR at SS? I think so. A full year of Reyes would be 3-4 WAR, but that will never happen. But oblique injuries are awful. I think he might be out for a couple months. But I wonder, he's a switch hitter. Would batting one way only maybe not hurt his oblique so much? Maybe he can come back sooner that later and just hit one way for a while if that's the case.
  11. Worst case, he shits the bed his next start, gets demoted for a few months, and comes up again in September and is lights out in the bullpen. Well, maybe not worse case. Worse case is TJ. But I think that scenario would keep his trade value high. I don't like Sanchez and I don't think he'll pan out. I'd rather get something proven with 2-3 years of control for Sanchez and a B prospect.
  12. Personally, I would give Sanchez one more start. He looked better, more comfortable, last night and pitched well enough to win honestly. But if he blows chunks, he should be demoted and asked to focus on location. When is Santana going to be ready? Will he be ready? I think he has an opt-out clause at the end of April if he's not on the team. If he looks decent at all, and is ready, I'd love for him to get a chance. Letting Sanchez mature a bit in AAA. Also, I'd pick up Dickey's option for shizzle. And I might also try to re-sign MB. Signing both might seem crazy, but it might allow the FO to trade a blue chip prospect (like Sanchez) for someone who can make a real impact in 2016 and beyond. But like others have mentioned, there are a ton of SP FA's this year. I just really like Dickey and MB.
  13. Some of the best skits ever.
  14. What's the difference between you and a mallard with a cold? One's a sick duck and I can't remember how it ends, but your mother's a whore.
  15. I think the Jays offense starting sucking when this thread was created.
  16. There's a good chance no one "thanks" you for this post. On account of it being dumn.
  17. Would Gardner EVER strike out and make a mistake in the field against the Jays? No.
  18. I'm happy for Snider. He seems like a really good kid. Who was totally mishandled here in Toronto, IMO. Gose, whom I've met, seems like a dick.
  19. Yikes, those are really good.
  20. And Dickey, really for his stats, has been a financially sound trade also. He's pretty inexpensive for what we get. I love him in our rotation, he's durable, and he gives the next pitcher a Dickey bump. Which is a real thing.
  21. 3.1 IP, 5 ER, 5 BB, 2K. His next start will be much better.
  22. That should be a pretty effective platoon, and it keeps the other on the bench for pinch running late.
  23. I f***ing hate hockey. Well, I play it, but hate the NHL. I love the MLB, CFL and NFL. And I've grown to love the Raptors over the last couple of years.
  24. Between that and the day game, this is a good time to rest Martin. I dunno about Navarro 6th, but if memory serves he hits pretty well in Baltimore.
