  1. He'd be a left specialist and mop up when game is over.
  2. Yep, Sanchez needs out of it pronto. I honestly wouldn't give him one more start. If he can return to 80% of what he was in the 'pen last year it'd be awesome. He'd be found money. But a demotion would be fine, too.
  3. Crap. Didn't know that. His AAA numbers are solid.
  4. I like this idea more than my, honestly.
  5. And JB? What sort of haul would you get for all of those players?
  6. What's really dumb is keeping him in the rotation when he is absolutely s*****. It's not a demotion. The Dickey effect is real, and should be utilized more than once every 5 starts. Throw him in for 2-3 innings once in a while would be effective.
  7. 60% of meniscus was removed. Probably not bone on bone. If it was they would have injected Synvisc there right away. I have dealt with 5 knee surgeries and sort of know what I am talking about.
  8. For this season (mostly) and the next few seasons, what would you do? Me? I'd do the following... 1. Trade for Hamels. We'd lose Sanchez and Osuna+ But we'd have a solid starter for 2.5 years. 2. Move Dickey to the bullpen (long relief, spot starter, whatever, essentially a Wakefield role) 3. Go with Hamels, Norris, Boyd, MB and Hutch as our starting five - maybe Wolf instead of Boyd 4. DFA Izturis 5. Find a way to get Muni of this roster. Because he's goddamn entertaining.
  9. Meanwhile Wolf has a 1.00 ERA in AAA and isn't starting. Anyone know why Redmond over Wolf? Again, this is the sort of question I wouldn't even contemplate in my worst nightmare way back in March.
  10. I only saw the interview that he did with Barry Davis. I thought Colby came off as more thoughtful and smarter than a lot give him credit for. And he never played the blame game. He was very classy. Was there something else that he did to come off as a dick? I didn't see it at all with Davis.
  11. Should increase the trade value of EE and JB
  12. I thought it was a good effort.
  13. Why trade the farm for Cueto? We'd still have 3 more starting rotation holes to fill.
  14. I forgot about Doubront. He's a totally serviceable starter. Said the Jays fan seconds before realizing the season is probably done.
  15. I agree. Wolf has been very good over his career and he is pitching well on the farm. I am ok sending Sanchez down for a while.
  16. If the Jays outright released Romero working and his $8M contract (or whatever it is) why wouldn't they release Izturis who is making a fraction of that? Is it because he's hurt?
  17. And in the same boat, I thought the Twins were doing poorly. Yet when I checked they were a few games above .500, essentially better than us. Sad.
  18. EE is almost always hot in May. This and June are the two months I don't worry about him.
  19. They are. They've assembled a really decent squad. And it's good that they are beating some of the good teams. Gives the Jays more of a chance at a WC if the Astros can beat up on some teams in their own division.
  20. Of course Adam Lind is having a good season. f***. Maybe Estrada excels in his starting role and I don't want to vomit.
  21. The Jays are apparently calling about Hamels. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/phillies-gm-hints-jays-calling-about-hamels/ Would they take Sanchez+? If so, plus what? Osuna? Osuna and Sanchez +? For me, the only untouchable is Hoffman. Maybe Stroman. But I wouldn't trade the entire farm for Hamels. How about Hamels and Papelbon for Osuna and Sanchez? Tres expensive, but we solve a couple issues right now and keep who I think are our best pitching prospects.
  22. This season is fast becoming a goddamn nightmare. f***ing Diaz.
  23. When is the last time the Jays had this good of defensive outfield? Pompey, Saunders and Pillar?
  24. I'm certainly not a pro outfielder, but I've played outfield for 25 years. When a ball dies on you, or slices funny, or is popped a mile in the air when it's windy, etc., it can make the most talented outfielders look silly when making the catch. I don't hold those things against Valencia. And I like his bat in the line up against specific pitchers.
