    There will be a lot of qualified people come available between now and October. There are probably some available now who have contacted the FO. And like a few of you surely think, I'd be shocked if DD is still with Baltimore come October.

    Tolleson had major vision problems last season that were corrected this offseason by laser surgery. I'm not suggesting he's Alomar, but he might end up being a decent option now that he can see the ball.

    I totally agree. Smoke/Valencia at 1B *could* be a very, very good platoon. Those splits! I'm also warming up to the idea of Norris #5 and Sanchez the closer (or in the 'pen at least) for 2015. I personally prefer Estrada as the long/swing man. But AA seems really high on him.

    I remember reading that he ended up with a .248 BA. I'm sure you're correct, but then what the hell was I reading? That's great, I love this kid and I hope he wins ROTY. He has a definite chance playing in a premium position.

    So, anyway, back to this DD to Toronto clusterf***... If the Jays trade a top prospect for this guy I'm going to f***ing freak. We just had our best year drafting, in terms of sheer talent, in maybe forever, and we may piss away some of that (or more) for this dick? f***.

    Navarro's $6M prevents us from signing a player or two methinks, of the relief pitcher variety. We need those type of players more than Navarro. Also, I like DD a lot, so it we got him AND freed up that cash to sign a couple guys, yay! Lastly, I think that woulde only enhance our chances to sign Shields.

    I love the idea of adding Shields...even if he has an off season he will give us 2-3 wins more then without him, and spare our bullpen. MB is gone next year, but I would pick up Dickey's option (is it $12M) if he has a solid season. Shields and Dickey as the vets, the Stroman, Hutchinson and Sanchez as the young bucks seems awesome. for 2016. Then for 2017 you add Norris to replace Dickey. Also awesome.

    That would kill two birds with one stone. Shields, while not an ace per se, would be 1-2 on this staff. Then Sanchez becomes the closer.

    That being said, Aoki signed for less than I thought he would have. I would take him over Rasmus, and doesn't Rasmus want north of $8M this year?

    I think if you give Izturis, Tolleson, Muni or even Goins every single AB at 2B for a whole season, they'd all have a plus WAR value. Not much more than 1.2 or something, but they'd all be better than 0. Not that I'm saying we don't need to improve there. Just 'cause it's fun, I will deal in hypothetics. If they played a full season, they would accrue the following WAR value... Izturis = 1.2 Tolleson = 1.4 Muni = 0.9 Goins = 0.2
