  1. You know its not an either or situation? We can have both Pompey and Melky in the same lineup. I don't know if you saw Gose play last year, but I'd take Dwayne Wise's bat over his.
  2. Yeah Gibby is just as good. Sure he makes stupid bullpen decision, pinch running errors that cost us the game later in the day, But Gibby is ours, and as such we need to support him. Replacing him with a success proven manager is not an option
  3. Lol @ lightning in a bottle, they made the playoffs 4 times in the last 7 years
  4. success in professional sports is defined in post season appearances. Regular season wins are meaningless if team does not make post season. Every other team in Major League baseball has made the post season in the last decade
  5. I was being sarcastic. There is no replacement of Lind's numbers The situation is a sad one. Nothing short of a miracle is required this off season
  6. Reality is negative bud for the Jays. I rather live in the negative reality of this team, than delude myself in the fantasy of next year. This team hasn't made the playoffs in 21 years, 11 more than the Mariners. That's how bad this team has been. Its the truth, and however sad the truth will set us free. lets be realistic, how does anyone see this team being any closer to the playoffs next year,
  7. Yep. Plus John Mayberry Jr. can probably produce the same numbers as Lind, because that is the guys starting at DH if Lind is not around.
  8. it wont help either. You say they have been below average? well how long as the product been below average? 21 years. Yes inflation has increased prices of other forms of entertainment, however those forms of entertainment at least deliver whats been promised. It really is irrelevant what other franchises in baseball are charging for ticket prices, Every other MLB team has gone to the playoffs in the last decade In any case Death of baseball in Toronto gets closer and closer. The way the team is shaping up, this could be a 90 loss team next year. Add increase in ticket pricing, and very real possibility that the Jays are going to lose some serious money next year. Which will likely result in lower payroll for future years. There are consequences for not taking actions. The right action was to improve at the 2014 trade deadline when this team was leading by the 3 games. Inaction at that point will ultimately result in AA and Beaston eventually losing their jobs, and the further death of baseball in Toronto
  9. Its stupid to invest any money in the bull pen. Relievers tend to go up and down throughout their career, As far as 2B is concerned, its a priority. However you cannot get stronger as a team by letting one of your strengths go and replacing it with a weaker player. Gose is already penciled in for CF, so what then are we looking at Pillar in Left field. Terrible just terrible. The 3 year offering is a clear attempt to discourage Melky, while at the same time show the weak fans, hey we tried. At the current rate, this is going to be a below .500 team next year.
  10. Don't worry earnings will go throw the roof when ppl start watching all those Anahiem.Ducks and Carolina.hurricanes hockey games late night Brb sponsorship dollars throw the roof
  11. With the way some people talk here I would think jays have 30 roster spots. They want a platoon on 2nd platoon at dh platoon at lf platoon at cf Lmao
  12. I think its stupid to sign a well performing player when we can have a draft pick which might make us a better team in 2020 Winning is overrated anyways. Real pleasure is in drafting prospects and dreaming about their potential.
  13. Terrible for the worst product in the mlb. I guess that's how Rogers is celebrating being the team with the longest tenure without playoffs
  14. Fully expect terrible news with this organization.
  15. Hockey has caused the Jays everything, its too bad that the NHL recovered. I would have loved to see it tank after the strike of the mid 2000s. I hope Rogers loses money on the deal long term, I hope the Leafs never make the playoffs again, and eventually lose all their fans but my hopes are meaningless. The truth is that it is what it is
  16. Why would there be room for either on the bench. Both are going to be starters. Valencia at third and Mayberry in the corner outfield.
  17. Against a west coast game It wont hold up, trust me
  18. That's our new closer Baby
  19. I dont think these are the kind of moves that will propel Jays into the post season.
  20. Something occurred to me while looking at the final four of this year's world series. There is a very serious possibility that the world series ratings this year could set the record for the lowest ever. In fact Fox could get higher ratings with a run of the mill sitcom or some reality crap. Last year's ratings were 8.7, and that included Boston. The year prior the ratings were below 7. The decline has been steady for the world series, and interest is at an all time low. With the 4 insignificant markets left, if San Francisco bows out, and we are left with Kansas City vs St. Louis, we are looking at only one state. I think ratings will decline to 5 or even lower, and Fox will consider not airing the World Series Anymore
  21. Way too early,
  22. He was garbage just like his replacement,
  23. thats terrible. I dont know much about Saunders but from his numbers, he does not look like he is even going to replace Lind`s part time bat. With Melky gone, now we would have just taken a whole step backwards on our offense, Id rather have Gose plus Lind`s bat
  24. if the flexibility goes towards retaining the likes of Burly, Dickey, and Reyes at their ridiculous salaries then no thank you
