  1. Signing Melky and Martin both does not harm the farm much, or the opportunity for young players.
  2. I think they both probably have Jays on No Trade. I dont think it has anything to do with Toronto or Canada, more to do with that Carpet the Jays play on, and its harm on the knees But ARGOOOSSSS
  3. Too bad jays had pounded him last couple of years.
  4. Meh. Now that Royals made the world series excuse will be used for 5 years
  5. Lol @ giving a player 300 Million, wont be long before a billion dollar signing occurs
  6. Its not a good lineup. I am happy about yesterday's acquisition, but this team needs both Melky and Martin
  7. right man won Angels ate very lucky
  8. and I guess our GM cant focus on more than one player at a time?
  9. And what if we don't get martin either. What then, are you prepared for this lineup? because in the absence of Melky or Martin, this is what the lineup might look like Reyes (SS) Lawrie??? (3B) Bautista (RF) Encarnacion (1B) Smoak (DH) Navarro © Izturis/Travis (2B) Dirks (LF) Pompey/Pillar (CF)
  10. You can't seriously think that. Just to fix our defensive catching problems you are willing to create a huge hole. And for what reason are both not being pursued. If we can trade away Burly, and then sign both would that not be even better? Why do we have to make either/or choices
  11. So suppose Jays sign Martin, so Navarro is now DH, what then. Lineup still has major holes, with almost no offense coming out of 2nd base, LF, CF, and probably 3rd base (Lawrie will be on the DL soon enough I am sure)
  12. So does signing Martin mean that Pillar and Dirks are full time outfielders?
  13. Trouble is that even if he does settle for 3/39 it wont be with the Jays if there is middle ground at 3/42-43 than i hope Jays pursue it Thanks Zeeshan
  14. At the end of the day, if a 4/50 deal is out there and AA is unable to reach that with Melky than that is a huge failure. Currently we are looking at starting Dirks in the outfield, plus Pillar is the backup plan for CF is Pompey is not ready. What we are looking at is having an outfield of Bautista/Pillar/Dirks. Thats downright awful. That is last place worthy
  15. If its 3/50 I agree, but if its 4/50 I disagree
  16. So with the acquisition of Travis, safe to assume that Jose Reyes will continue to be the SS for the next couple of years. Terrible, Guy alone cost us a handful of games with his defense. No reason to think his defense will get better, should get worse with age
  17. So basically as of right now, Halladay = Devon Travis + one half of Dickey
  18. So where does this put our team. I assume AA has Izturis and Lawrie so he wont be looking for a 2B anymore, its right to the bullpen than I suppose
  19. I hope Gose doesn't take over as CF for Detroit and becomes something special
  20. So tigers are also looking to trade Avila, who imo is better at pitch framing than Martin
  21. I dont really understand the numbers you have put up, so I cant really comment on them. However I do believe that 400ABs is at least a large enough sample size to make some observations from.It may not be the perfect sample, but its something to go on.
  22. 2014 Splits Vs. LHP .256/.322/.465 Vs. RHP .313/.371/.450 Interesting. A right handed hitter that hits righties well.
  23. While I like the trade, I warn people here against highly rating this Travis guy. It scares me to think that with a veteran team in its contention window, we will be going with a rookie 2B who at best case scenerio will hit for league average. At the same time, Gose was only slightly better than Dwayne Wise. Nothing is lost, and small probability something good is gained. I wonder how the veterans on this club feel right now. Rookie 2B, doesn't sound like a team trying to win a championship.
  24. Andrew Miller wont settle for anything less than 4 years. LMAO
