  1. It’s time to draft Matthew Barefoot 80-grade name to bat ratio
  2. “Little, Jack” just got drafted by the dodgers, missed opportunity for Buck and Pat.
  3. I’m guessing they like Tanner Morris more than Will Holland
  4. He’s not listed as a top 10 Canadian prospect this year. I’d think he’s going to college. We could always grab him on round 30s just to say we drafted him and newspapers can be written about it
  5. Alright just grab all the cape cod standouts and call it a night. That’s reassuring, at least people have heard of them
  6. Zeuch lacks strikeout ability, a really plus breaking ball, and mostly a ground ball pitcher. This isn’t exactly the case with Manoah. Not to mention Manoah sits 94-97 and touches 98-99.
  7. Corner OF Bat with good college track record with wood, I can get behind this
  8. He’s probably a bit of a reach at 3, but it means we could sign him underslot for more Kendall Williams money. I saw his name pop up in the BA Region rankings, and thought we might grab him in the later rounds for the Canadian connection. I think our kids even played against him in spring training. Still expecting Jaxx Groshans pick eventually unless he gets plucked by another team
  9. https://www.southsidesox.com/2019/6/1/18623943/kendall-williams-draft-prospects-you-should-know-kendall-williams?utm_campaign=southsidesox&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter Well then.
  10. great work! really appreciate the effort here.
  11. D-Backs 16. Corbin Carroll 26. Blake Walston 33. Brennan Malone 34. Drey Jameson 56. Ryne Nelson 74. Tommy Henry 75. Dominic Fletcher That is a disgusting first two rounds for Arizona. Nice way to start a rebuild if everybody signs.
  12. Matthew Barefoot and James Beard 80 grade names
  13. His current weight may not have a huge impact on his future production, he could be an absolute stud despite the frame question marks. I'll repeat that I will withhold all judgment about this pick until I see him pitch for us, he could turn out terrific and we'll laugh in hindsight. But there's no question some teams wondered about it and it's affected his stock: There's no way to know how high he would be drafted if those questions were not there. But top college right-handed pitchers don't normally slide to 11. This could be great value for the Jays but there's some risk there as well, but they were obviously comfortable with the risk or else they wouldn't have picked him.
  14. I agree with this. But if it's any consolation, we've got the top college righty in the draft class. It would suck if he doesn't pan out when almost everybody else went for bats, but he's got enough reasonable upside. If his weight wasn't a question mark there's no chance he falls to 11, and I rather take a flyer on Manoah than injury history prospects like Thompson. There's some truth to this. We haven't really failed to sign high profile guys in a while.
  15. If we save a bit on Manoah and punt on a few later picks, there might be an extra million or two floating around for Williams similar to last year with Kloffenstein. Late 1st round level money isn't out of the question. Vanderbilt is a tough commit to break but they probably have a reasonable hope of signing him before making the selection.
  16. I have a feeling we're going with another pitcher, there's some really decent arms left. I would be content with guys like Matt Canterino, Tommy Henry, John Doxakis, Ryan Zeferjahn, Graeme Stinson, or Ryne Nelson. Wolf, Lugo, Lewis, or even Barco would be great prep picks if we could sign them. I like Tyler Callihan.
  17. He was projected top 20 pick pretty much the entire year and one of the more polished prep arms in the class, similar to Cole Winn last year. It's not unusual for the guy to believe he's worth 1st round money and go to college to prove it. If everything works out he could get top 10 pick money in 2022. Of course doesn't always work out that way, actually it rarely does. But that's their leverage and teams sometimes call their bluff. JuCo is also another route if they really want to (e.g. Carter Stewart) but usually they'll just goto college.
  18. Most likely wanted top 15 money and didn't get it. Will goto college.
  19. Welp 2nd round just started and there goes half my guys.
  20. and of course the Rays get another stud prep righty JJ Goss, what's new?
