    Appy is like High Rk or Rk+ if GCL is normal rookie ball. DSL is for the raw international guys. Martinez skipped DSL. Hiraldo was in DSL/GCL last year. So if he hits in Bluefield he may goto Vancouver like Otto Lopez did in 2018.

    They will get something better. I get that people are still upset at the Happ deal, but it’s beating a dead horse at this point. At the time I did much rather have a Yankee lotto ticket arm coming back, and was a bit tilted when we got two position players instead. Even a Abreu, Luis Medina or Acevedo would’ve been nice, but hindsight is 20/20. what can we do? I agree, don’t trade with Cashman unless you’re getting great value back, which rarely happens.

    I mean you don’t exactly need to throw 98 like Gerrit Cole or Syndergaard to pitch in the MLB. Zach Greinke is throwing upper 80s now and still get batters out. Lance Lynn isn’t a great example, but avg 94mph isn’t exactly gas. Stroman also barely throws 95 anymore. Jon Lester is only throwing 91mph and still effective. Our better pitchers in recent memory were JA Happ and Marco Estrada. Neither were high velo guys. You really don’t need 5 guys that throw 100

    I’m a fan of crafty lefties. Some of the top SP in the MLB in WAR are lefties that don’t throw gas. Have you seen Hyun-Jin Ryu? Lance Lynn isn’t exactly a flame thrower either. It’s hard to put quantify pitcher quality, player IQ, composure, pitching mix, control & location, movement, secondaries, so much goes crazy stuff into pitching. Looking at FB mph is nice, but it’s like looking at BA and RBI twenty years ago. It’s way beyond that.

    Kinda confirmed all the speculations we made on the previous 2-3 podcast episodes. Yankees and Twins are front runners but there’s a handful of teams that are competing and might give up a prospect to get them on July 31. Would be great if Padres, Braves, Phillies, and Astros jump on the phone lines as well.

    Hey Ray, really appreciate the support! I think the guys will try to release an update by the end of the month. I’m also very much looking forward to it, we’ll maybe even see names we’ll get back at the trade deadline (e.g. Deivi Garcia, Jordan Balazovic wink wink). J2 guys and 2019 draft guys should be on there as well. Just on a personal note, guys like Kirk, Moreno, Conine, Martinez, Murray, Winckowski, and D’Orazio saw their stock sore up since the Feb update. Wouldn’t be shocked to see them ranked really highly. Guys like Alek Manoah and Rikelvin De Castro should be on there somewhere as well. This can easily remain a top 5 farm in the post-Vlad era IMO.

Even with guys like Mackenzie Gore, Matt Manning, Dustin May, Sixto Sanchez, DL Hall, and Ian Anderson there, Nate Pearson’s inning was a cut above the rest. Deivi Garcia got “best breaking stuff” award for his curveball.
