  1. That ball 2 was a pretty clean strike. Ump has been good all evening, but that was a clear miss.
  2. I really want Grilli to make a good impression here. Hate to see him blow a save in his first appearance.
  3. Tanaka: "You have broughtu gureatu shameu to me, Jacoby."
  4. What s*** luck for a ball to get through a lefty shift. Ridiculous.
  5. s*** result but that was more unfortunate than abysmal the way a lot of April innings looked. Good ABs, solid contact, just no luck.
  6. JD is amazing. He made an error, yeah, but that recovery.
  7. What's even wrong with Morales again? Has he started any sort of baseball activity?
  8. To add a previously successful reliever for almost no cost is a way better option than LeBlanc or Diamond. Grilli has a long track record of success and those guys don't. He may be in decline, but at least he can record major league outs. And if he absolutely can't then it doesn't matter and you can eventually have your AAAA trash fill in.
  9. 6-2 so far in the 12-game Yanks-Sox gauntlet. I was really worried about this stretch. I was pretty unconvinced after the rickety 3/4 from in Minnesota, but I am so happy the team has upped its game.
  10. Today's late-game stars: http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/ac52/hornyhobbit/Characters/barney.gif http://wondersofdisney2.yolasite.com/resources/aladdin/genie/genielamp.png http://www.disneyclips.com/imagesnewb/images/clippumb.gif
  11. I know I probably asked before but what time block do you watch these games? 1-4am? 2-5?
  12. I always preferred spring/summer semesters. So much more laid back for a guy who loathes winter.
  13. God I love that Cookie Monster ad. It's like looking in a mirror.
  14. I was going to say that it feels like Grilli has been around forever... but I guess that's because he has. If he can get his BBs under control he sounds like he could be a pretty solid late inning option. Considering the back-end is Osuna + Floyd-Biagini experiment + a struggling Cecil, another option is always good if Storen can't put it together.
  15. Missed the whole game except for the ninth inning, which seems like it was the least enjoyable part of the game. Good to see a win and loving Estrada. I've had my doubts since they got him, but man, he's been good.
  16. He does seem like the kind of guy who would draw a face on his fingers and talk to other players with his hand. Maybe he brought it on himself. I'd say people who write Jays articles who tweet clubhouse rumours is some brand of journalism. They know they have an audience. And the Valencia thing was a comparison. If we don't know the Valencia story (if there is one), why would Gibby spill the beans on this one?
  17. Twitter broken telephone. Beautiful journalism. Why would Gibby tell us this? If there were disagreements in the clubhouse, he wouldn't share them with anyone. We still don't even officially know what happened to Valencia. Blair seems to just say stuff and hope it sticks.
  18. Bad result today, but overall a tough fought series. 2 out of 3 is pretty good. 4-2 halfway through the Yanks-Sox-Yanks-Sox stretch (who schedules this stuff?). It also legitimately looks like the offense might be waking up. Lots of good to take away from the last two series hitting-wise, for the most part. Nearly at the 1/3 point of the season. Considering how bad the team has looked at times, .500 isn't so bad. Maybe put the panic whistles back in the drawer for the time being.
  19. Fair enough. You guys are probably right.
  20. He's pitched like three-four starts worth of innings over 52 games. If he's gassed... well, that's pretty concerning. I'd say he just had a rough outing.
  21. Jays and Sox games are war. Amazing how tightly both teams contend so consistently and with pretty much no bad blood.
  22. At least three runs today were hand-me-downs by the pitching staff. HBP and walks.
  23. Terrible performance from Floyd. Hanigan got himself out and then Floyd bowled himself into trouble.
