  1. I still haven't seen his analysis of why Chris Sale is so hittable. I imagine he's just having it proofread.
  2. Pat with the homoerotic language. "Vogt is trying to massage him through this inning." "Pete Walker coming out to give Dickey a bit of a blow." Is there not a suggestion box somewhere in the booth?
  3. I don't think it was wrong to leave him in necessarily. He was pretty much out of the inning.
  4. Gibby "sensed something wasn't right". Yeah, Stro's one and half pitches were getting generous K calls to save his ass.
  5. Gibby should have listened when I called for a short leash. Go smash the dugout now, Stro. Would have been nice if Zeke moved his feet on the liner too.
  6. I meant with the glove. A few balls have inched just past him tonight. I meant babip for fielders. I meant babip in a way no one else has ever used it.
  7. Is Semien bad or is he getting babip'd? I haven't heard good things in the past.
  8. Stroman needs a short leash in the next inning. No confidence in his stuff tonight. Second two-strike, two-out RBI ughhhhhhhhhh
  9. If it ends as close as last year did I say they give it to Trout. (Or Macahado.) But yeah, JD will be in the convo. He's a special player.
  10. LOL @ Martin framing the s*** out of strike two only for Stroman to chuck it down the middle again.
  11. I joined with this account two years ago and only really started actively posting around January of last year (I also joined under another name in 2013, but can't remember it since that season was s*** and I stopped coming around). I still don't know most of the folks here that well and am totally out of the loop on lots of inside jokes, but I get by just fine. I agree it takes a thicker skin to become a regular, though.
  12. Perhaps there should be an Around Baseball sub-forum? Would include the megathread for small moves but also encourage new threads for bigger ones. Not that there's any reason we can't do that now, but who knows.
  13. In fairness, the toe issue is a freak sort of accident. Was the hip issue not a result of a collision as well? I'm with you on the shoulder thing, but Jose seems to be a guy in exceptional shape who is running into some bad luck. I'm still not advocating a major contract though.
  14. Farrell as third base coach for the next decade, seeing managers come and managers go but still only ever allowed to wave the odd runner home.
  15. That's my opinion. Is that MLB policy though? He should be punished on those grounds alone. Still doesn't change that they can already be having dinner and talking about where to get the best condo. But frankly, who among any of us hasn't had a conversation about leaving our current place of employment for another gig?
  16. The sarcasm of my post was a bit too understated for its own good. But 8? Yikes.
  17. I'm a Bell owner, so Jaso GettingTFO out Pittsburgh would be nice for me. Him replacing Smoak isn't a bad idea either, though I'd probably prefer to stuff him at the bottom third of the order on a regular basis tbh.
  18. So much hate for the guy who got the decisive hit in the final game before the AS break. Tough crowd.
  19. I've always tried to argue that some knuckleball education could have widened the scope of backup catchers available. I don't see why Thole is such a special talent that he, and only he, can catch this thing. But there's an argument to be made that as volatile as the KB already is, it's still probably better to have a steady, proven guy catch it. Dickey still provides both quality and endurance, so if it costs the roster spot of the backup C to ensure there's a competent and trusted battery mate in the clubhouse... I guess it's fine.
  20. It's a set-up, too. Notice how nothing was written of whether or not anyone informed Michael about how the phrase is used. No one asked, or at least the article doesn't specify that anyone did, "are you aware of the controversy surrounding the statement?" Complete narcissism by the author. Picked the lowest possible hanging fruit. Probably. Does anyone remember what Gibby said that pissed everyone off earlier this year? Outside of this board, probably very few.
