  1. I'm one of the people who hates watching Dickey pitch, but Thole's uselessness is so limited that it really doesn't factor in. If Dickey can provide value that supercedes any of Thole's small failings, then that's fine. If Dickey can add good production to the team overall then he should absolutely be brought back if no other moves are cooking. Watching a Dickey start is absolutely anti-fun, but if the team is winning I will be having more fun. So if he genuinely helps the team more than he hurts it, then yes, bring him back.
  2. That's basically what Canadians think of the anthem too, considering the only time it's ever broadcasted is on Canada Day.
  3. Come on man, it's a f***in' song. But I'm sure the guy who ad libbed "we are all brothers and sisters" and flashed a peace sign on national TV is strapped up at the border looking for blood.
  4. Earlier in the game the main commentator made a comment about Altuve being "under-reported" as a defensive 2B. Then deRosa chimed in saying, "I think a lot of things about Altuve are under-reported". But then the inning ended and he never finished the thought, so it really just sounded like a subtle short joke.
  5. Yes. Nintendo games were at a premium when I was a kid. Never question the bringer of Nintendo or his criminal history.
  6. Srsly. The trailers are more than enough for me. Maybe the creepiest TV trailers ever done? Seems like they spoil a lot of the good scares, though.
  7. I'm really curious to hear from the guy, especially now that it seems he pulled a fast one by his colleagues.
  8. I don't necessarily disagree with you. I am just very skeptical of Zeke's skill set. If he's truly learned plate patience, then I'll be happy to be wrong.
  9. Carrera being an upgrade to Smoak is debatable. Up to this point, yeah, but I can't shake the feeling that the rug will eventually get pulled out from under Zeke. Outside of the increased number of walks, he's the same old klutz.
  10. My favourite part of this game was how Josh Thole played the role of EE. I know RBIs are kind of a punchline stat, but a three-month span since his first and only of the season...? Wow. What's rarer than a unicorn that would adequately describe today?
  11. Jays lost a game this weekend and are the same distance behind the O's as they were coming into the weekend. That's more than you can reasonably hope for when the Angels are involved. Great way to enter the break. So pleased.
  12. It takes a very big and handsome man to admit this. (Seems you have broken the mold.)
  13. Surprised Grilli was so daring with the fastball. Had a lot of options there against V-Mart.
  14. http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/2013/09/wtf.gif
  15. Trav specifically looks the other way. He's always dinging centre cuts off the end of the bat, unless I'm seeing things. Edit: and of course
  16. He's staying totally outside and most of the guys are just swallowing the curveball when it comes in.
  17. Sanchez is not at his sharpest today. Still good enough to keep it at 2-0, though.
  18. Sanchez is fine if he keeps the ball out of RF.
  19. Why is Junior Lake hitting in front of Travis, or even Barney?
  20. There was a lot of fail in that inning. 1-0 sucks because of how it happened, but it was setting up as much, much worse. Boyd won't survive long against this lineup on a July afternoon though.
  21. Ugh, he had the last guy rung up too. Now the good hitters are up.
