  1. And Upton goes down without a swing. This is seriously embarrassing.
  2. Motherf***ers letting the ump decide this. How long a lesson do they need before they start protecting the outside? Holy f***ing s***.
  3. If you're at the game and reading this, get loud when the Jays are up please. This kid is as green as it comes. Look up from your phones and rattle him.
  4. I bet he doesn't go past the 4th, even if Cleveland has a big lead. The top three probably just wasted their best chance against this staff's weakest guy.
  5. Really hoping these hitters don't just die at the plate against this guy by swinging at trash and getting fooled. And two whiffs, another unprotected borderline K, and no balls out of the infield.
  6. I wonder if the team is keeping a Saunders injury under wraps for the sake of his future employment. There's no way that it's worth putting Bautista in the outfield over Upton if Saunders is capable of at least matching Jose's badness as a late game sub. Then again, no reason to hamper the team with a secret injury either. They must really, genuinely think Saunders is a terrible defender (which I wouldn't blame them for).
  7. Bolsinger? As for Dickey -- who would catch him? They allegedly couldn't even coax Martin into catching him once at all this season. I doubt they'd be able to convince him to start dealing with the KB for mid-game blowout losses. And you wouldn't want to sign Thole just to sub in during the middle of games. Sign a competent back-up and just shake Dickey and Thole's hands and thank them for their service. Done. If Martin ever changed his mind I think it might be a pretty good flyer though. Dickey probably wants to finish his career as an SP making as much as possible, though...
  8. I can live with this setup, but I think the divisions need some re-aligning. I hate scenarios like last year's when two of the top win squads (98 and 97) had to fight in a one-game playoff while the (admittedly good, but bad early on) Mets get a division title with like 91 wins. I really like the idea of just having an American League and National League and then you can literally say the top x number of teams (4?) get postseason berths without any second-guessing about who actually played in a strong enough division to boast a big win record. Travel would be a lot more rigorous too with lots more cross country trips. Interleague would be tough to swing for common opponents though... TBH I'd like to look at a schedule and it not have a ~50% chance of being TB, Baltimore, NY, or Boston on a given day. I want to see everyone else a lot more. Even I would have poisoned you at the inevitable BJMB meet up.
  9. Is Navarro back next year? Could have sworn the White Sox originally signed him for two seasons.
  10. Until 1995 nothing other than an ALCS was played. For a long time until '93 there were two divisions per league, East and West, and the division winners went directly to their respective CS and those winners went on to the WS ('94 was the obvious exception). Way more exclusive and preferable IMO, but I acknowledge that the current setup allows for way more teams to be competitive for longer. It was harder to make the playoffs before, but easier to go all the way. Now, it's easier to make but you have more opportunities to f*** up your run along the way, especially if you're a WC team.
  11. It wasn't just the Stroman thing either... Cecil facing Napoli (which worked out, but still) Navarro being allowed to run while Pompey sits on the bench Meanwhile, Francona is acing every test with his perfect usage of Miller through the playoffs and then, the cherry on top, reversing the Allen/Miller dynamic to get maximum innings from them while conserving the workhorse Miller. Gibby obviously isn't getting much to work with, to be fair, but you still have to goddamn play the cards you're dealt ffs. Down by two and letting your lefty face a lefty killer with a guy on is just a facepalm. October 17, not April 17.
  12. What's the difference? Frustrating is frustrating, isn't it?
  13. From what I understand the Raptors had a pretty bad problem with closing games out this year? Regardless, this series has been an embarrassment for the Jays so far. It's one thing to struggle in a Kluber-Miller-Allen set, but the Blue Jays couldn't even put together a decent inning in a bullpen game in which the starter had to be removed in the first inning. That's pathetic from every possible angle.
  14. My girlfriend stormed out of the living room and slammed the bedroom door. Not sure if I should go in or not.
  15. The Indians remove their uniforms on the field to reveal loin cloths and war paint. The outrage continues.
  16. I cracked during the 4th inning. Bautista walks to lead off and then Donaldson, EE, and Tulo just pop up on a total of like six pitches. Abysmal.
  17. Naquin blasts Osuna. Would have been nice if any of the monster bats on this team did that to any of the six pitchers they faced today.
  18. Glad the announcers picked up on Zeke's chaos in the outfield act.
  19. Keep taking strikes until you die, guys. A solid approach.
  20. Guys need to start smothering the bag. The pop-off thing is really a side effect of replay. Interesting how it's had an effect on the game.
  21. There are people on their deathbeds who knew that curve was coming to Smoak.
  22. There's been nothing wrong with the tone of the broadcasts. People are projecting.
  23. Well struck balls probably barely in the double digits too.
  24. I changed my post before I saw this. I agree on the Stroman thing.
  25. Gibbons did very little wrong this series so far. These are textbook losses. His players have been guzzling nyquil on the bench or something.
