  1. One good swing in three ABs and it goes into a glove. Gah.
  2. Even though I always hold my breath with Happ, I agree he's been solid enough. I don't think Buffalo is what Hutch needs; just a bench and two weeks to relax.
  3. Hutch, absolutely, if only for a couple of weeks. He's running on fumes and a DL stint for rest could be very helpful.
  4. Kershaw gives up one run in the ninth of a CG, ERA inflates to 1.71.
  5. Crazy. No way would I have believed you in March. Not a chance.
  6. Sanchez? It might be coming too. Hutchison is running on fumes right now
  7. Come on, Hammy. So it turns out pennant races are fun!
  8. Seriously. The Astros f***ing suck. Our guys need to step up though.
  9. I stepped away from the game and it looks like something dumb happened. Glad I'm only catching pieces of this one.
  10. Is her husband that slow-sounding Parker guy? I had no idea.
  11. Hazel's been doing sportscasts for how long? She always seems to me like it's her first week. There's just something awkward about her.
  12. Did Jose actually just drop a ball for no reason? I just got in. Ugh.
  13. I vehemently disagree. A big trade would boost the team, yes, but at huge cost. Especially for the ace starter that makes the WS a "Possibilty". The truth is that no trade will single-handedly make the Jays a WS contender if they weren't already in the conversation. The A's and Tigers are both elite now in the current AL, and nothing the Jays could do will make those playoff series easier unless they transform themselves into the Dodgers overnight. As for the 21-year bitterness, it's not AA's responsibility to make up for the failings of previous regimes. Past disappointments shouldn't dictate moves for the present or future.
  14. I think the Braves just acquired Bonifacio in the hopes of him playing 2B.
  15. Agreed. I think AA does some dumb stuff, and I don't buy the open wallet comment, but he deserves props for not cutting off a finger to save the hand.
  16. AA would get modest props for filling holes, at most. The outrage about not getting anybody is more about other kids having new toys. I wish the team would have acquired a solid piece too, but not at the cost most teams were likely asking (Stroman, Lawrie, et al). The trade deadline hype train is daunting.
  17. This level headed post deserves more than a passive thanks, so: THANKS.
  18. He's not always wrong because most fans are stupid or nuts or both. His bias is still wince-inducing, though, especially when they're unsolicited.
  19. The Wilner Apologist act is going to be in f***ing overdrive tonight, especially if the team doesn't win their sixth in a row.
  20. Goddammit. I wonder who is going the other way. I feel like any moves the Yankees made the Jays easily could have made too.
  21. Austin Jackson looks like he's leaving Detroit. Mid-AB, too. Hugs. Standing O.
