  1. I'm a little shocked at people not getting this point. Why let luck have a say if you can snuff out a potential play? Ideally, you want the ball in motion as little as possible.
  2. Martin put the screws on that one, goddamn it.
  3. Dude has a tough gig and needs to do it n minimal reps. I respect Thole even though I hate him on the team. Everyone should be offering Thole a pity f*** is what I'm saying.
  4. At least Zeke can conceivably pinch run.
  5. Tool Jones: 46 & 2 Oriole Jones: 2 for 46
  6. In fairness to Atothe, the board would have literally thanked Hitler for that post after Game 5. I don't remember if I was a part of that thread but I'm pretty sure it was the peak of this forum and likely the best sports moment most of us have/will ever experience.
  7. I've been annoyed about Kratz for a while. Yet another C, and a solid one, that the org froze out because of the Thole-Dickey marriage. To use Kat's term, Thole is treated like some sort of "unicorn" with a PhD in knuckleball catching. I refuse to believe that Martin or Kratz could be so unable to work with Dickey that it necessitated employing Thole three years past his welcome. I will maintain that it's been an objectively sub-optimal move until someone slams a comically large binder of proof otherwise onto my desk.
  8. I thought the comeback after was better.
  9. Totally forgot. Maybe Gibby was afraid the Sox would have something on Osuna after yesterday and didn't want to risk it. Now I'm grasping. Out of ideas.
  10. All good questions. I was and am fine with Osuna in yesterday's game, but I'm not sure why he was suddenly unavailable for today. Sure it's a morning game but the time off between games is still longer than a night-day set. Unless Osuna needed today for some reason, I'd say Gibby was just "getting guys in", as he tends to.
  11. Sox are tough, man. Good split. Hopefully a big inning against Koji and Kimbrel is the kickstarter for the offence.
  12. http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Chris-Farley-Sunglasses-Flip-Shock.gif
  13. I'm willing to bet that if Jose didn't get busted for that slide and Brock Holt didn't hit that slam we'd still be sitting through another week or two of Pillar leading off.
  14. I don't know if I'd say he was trying to "recreate" anything. Probably more that the team was still in high spirits from 2015 and he got wrapped up in obliging them. Agree that Gibby deserves a pinch of credit for not dying on the Pillar hill though.
  15. Is it too much to put the ball in play?
  16. He's not really wrong. Seems like every fielding mistake ends up changing the game. Plus no one can hit. Jays are awful to watch right now.
  17. Of course it leads to a run. Brutal mistakes so far this year.
