    I can totally see them letting Gibby hang himself to make the axe PR-friendly. In fairness to Gibby, clubhouse morale would absolutely get in the way of any moves he might want to make. On the other hand, bizarre platoon methodology suggests he's not even appreciating certain obvious issues.
