  1. Can we put him in our BP too?
  2. The last one was 5 years. The game is changing so much (financially speaking) I reckon they can't really do much longer.
  3. I think it might actually make Rogers increase payroll tbh.
  4. Because we're small market...
  5. That is the funniest thing I've seen all week.
  6. How about you guys go make a General 2016 WWE Discussion Thread in OT.
  7. I think we'd all be on board acquiring Puig but I think the cost here is interesting. If LA aren't able to re-sign Rich Hill it seems they'd be after an ace this off-season and they have the resources to acquire pretty much the best trade arm available (Sale/Archer/Verlander). So it's probably in their best interest to keep Puig as an option for that package before moving him for prospects. Just my thought.
  8. There's things called odds..

He meant the name Vegas vs Las Vegas. They are the Vegas Golden Knights.
  10. Winnipeg, North Korea Also, what's the big deal? We do have American members and hopefully they didn't die getting trampled in front of Walmart at 12:01AM. let us pray

Probably though I definitely wouldn't bank on Canadians filling the arena. I think hotels bought up a lot of the season tickets and will be including them in various packages, there's got to be millions of international travelers going to Vegas every year who have never seen a hockey game in their life and would probably check it out. I know a minority stake owner who bought 40 season tickets to give to children charities and underprivileged kids in the city who have never seen a hockey game in their life. Doing his part to help introduce hockey to the city which is pretty cool.

Well... being that they are in the Western Conference, we're talking 1 game in Vegas and I'd guess about a 33% chance it's on a weekend.

The Vegas arena capacity will be 17,500 and they've already sold over 15,000 season tickets... Probably mostly hotels, travel companies, etc. for giveaways but regardless owners don't care who buys them. Getting people to actually go to the games might be a different challenge though.
  14. I'm rather impressed no one took the bait.
  15. Hey sorry for that right hook a few months ago that made you a meme for life. Wanna be friends?
  16. I think it's mostly big teams waiting on what the limits and penalties will be for luxury tax. If the teams at or near the threshold can add another 5-10 million without taking a penalty it changes what they can offer to big FA players, so there is no point in them signing if they feel they could get another bid elsewhere. Also, not that it really matters but if a 26th man is part of the regular season roster it means another MLB contract to consider at the start of the year.
  17. I hear you on Gordon though I don't think you can get him for nothing and I don't expect him to bounce back with one of his .350 BABIP type seasons to up the OBP enough to be our leadoff batter... Royals are built with average bats and defense minded players, they probably value him more than we would. Puig would be most ideal but would probably take a SP to get the ball rolling. We can't beat what the White Sox could dangle to rape the Dodgers system though.
  18. The idea of trading assets for guys in hopes they have a bounce back year heading in to their mid 30s is kinda scary. Focus on guys like McCutchen, Puig, yes they'd cost more but only 2 years left on their contracts and prime candidates to have a big year or two as the ROI.
  19. Yep, I got to wonder with that many stars it could work against a few of them if teams overspend early on.
  20. lol @ anyone thinking gbill has a source that EE would sign for $88MM.
  21. Yes please! I'd try to sign Blevins before Logan.
  22. You won't get much praise here by evaluating pitchers by their ERA and W/L record much less in a 14 IP sample size. See xFIP amongst others.
  23. That seems like something they would adjust for during the season and the comment suggests a coach should be fired.
  24. That would be about 0%.
