  1. They are a .500 ball club with 4 teams ahead of them to make the last wild card spot during the worst stretch of their season... I'm all for being optimistic but at best they'll be playing spoiler role in September.
  2. Clowns aren't good at baseball. http://usatftw.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/josereyes.jpg
  3. Bunch of cry baby millionaires preaching to the choir. Suck it up, the roster has better players on it then it did all of last month with 50% less effort. All pitchers should be happy they have a job after the deadline and want to prove why they are on the team. The rest need to man up and lead by example both at the plate on the field. Done with this season.
  4. ...and what happens when they don't bomb out of the gate just like this year? They won't do anything to make the necessary moves to swing away, they just proved that and there is nothing to suggest otherwise. This team had pennant like numbers in June and the organization stood put. They did nothing when Lawrie went down, nothing when Edwin or Lind went down. Nothing when Francisco offensively nosedived 10' in the dirt. Nothing to upgrade the pitching staff over the past year (both starters or relievers). What else does this team have to not do for you guys to realize next year is going to be nothing different? Tear it all down and build a foundation for the long term not 3 year windows.
  5. Keep Stroman & Hutch, maybe Norris & Lawrie. Everyone else gets new Jerseys http://s27.postimg.org/5m0zvieir/jays_for_sale.jpg
  6. pfft... no big deal, Stroman can pinch run.
  7. I'm not in favour of any game changes like so many. Shortening innings? Are you crazy? Pitch clocks, this isn't basketball. How about start by getting rid of manager delays to look at replays before challenging a play. Make your call on the spot. One thing I've always wanted is when an East coast team plays on the road against a West coast team, game times for Sat/Sun should be played earlier in the day when appropriate. I'm not a fan of watching baseball games at 1AM, start the game at 4PM local time, 7PM EDT and I'll be watching.
  8. We were this close to having Santana... this close to having Kinsler (had to throw it in there).... things could have been so much better this season. Santana was probably the biggest whiff to the organization which showed Rogers unwillingness to pony up and go for it (and the foreshadowing of what to expect this season, AKA no payroll flexibility). Trading for an ace at the deadline would have been just to save face, that move was too late to have the impact needed. Not to mention our results for August wouldn't likely be much different with Lester pitching over Happ as he's held his own out there last few outings. Getting a 2B or 3B had to have happened the week Lawrie hit the DL back in June. Bottom line: too little too late.
  9. Remember when Kyle Drabek tossed a no-hitter in AA ball? Our future looked impeccable. Though I am happy we've kept our pitching prospects intact and looking forward to seeing Norris.

  11. Well yes I can respect that. However, dreaming of signing free agents and actually attracting them & inking them in Toronto are 2 completely different things that is always overlooked...
  12. At this point, sleep is far more valuable than watching the Jays useless bats go up against the league's best pitching. The outcome was inevitable so I wasn't losing sleep over it.
  13. Melky lived up to his contract and will want to cash in but it doesn't mean Toronto isn't at the top of his list and it doesn't mean Toronto wouldn't give him a very competitive contract offer, they'd be stupid not to sign him unless they are selling off. With that said, I'm ok with selling the team for a proper rebuild and living with < mediocrity for a few years.
  14. I wish we traded the farm to go for it and acquire a starting pitcher at the deadline that could give us quality starts... because then we'd be a WS contender and all that stuff.
  15. Too bad my 22 month old has kept me up for the past 3 nights in a row from a god damn tooth and I'm tired as hell to stay up much longer.
  16. he was a .199 batter and Felix only needs 2 runs to work with
  17. everyone screeeeeaaam omg omg omg yaaaaaaaaaaaaa it's a popup.
  18. lol no one gets to say f*** you Reyes... that's a bonus.
