  1. Well there is no such thing as a guarantee...
  2. Eric Thames in Korea played in 114 games, .341 AVG, 32 HR, 113 RBI, and posted a 1.090 OPS

  4. possibly, I'd have to confirm with my sources.
  5. I think some of you are underestimating Holland's value and clearly have a heavy heart from the rise and fall of the likes of Delabar, Santos, and Janssen. Holland has been a reliever his entire pro career, he's not a failed starter, he wasn't a substitute teacher and he's had 4 years in a row of elite success that no one on our roster has reached.
  6. They were a sub .500 team for 13 straight seasons. They were far below mediocrity.
  7. My only problem with him came when he didn't make any necessary moves during the offseason nor during the regular season when they were still like a projected 75-80% chance of playoffs when injuries hit. He blew his budget on the team in 2013 and had none left to add depth. I think he's learned from that mistake which is why Melky was not re-signed and he's finding more creative ways to save $ this time around.
  8. Just quick note, don't mistype mlbtraderumors.com - My virus scanner just went bonkers on a typo.
  9. Yea I have never seen it in a prospects outlook.
  10. Question: How many pitching prospects get a realistic role of a #1 starter? Close to none?
  11. http://media.giphy.com/media/VsUe40eykRqMw/giphy.gif That swing http://i.imgur.com/78vbN4Q.gif
  12. Apparently our future is a bunch of #3/4 starters and average bats. I guess on the flip side they could fizzle and end up being High School Coaches.
  13. JA Happ at his best is a 1.3 WAR player. Jon Lester at his best is a 6 WAR player. Replacing one with the other can make a big difference in the win column for this club. Great we have some awesome OBP line up, it doesn't mean we should completely avoid the starting rotation, this team is trying to make up 13G on the O's.
  14. Except this has been the Blue Jays approach for the better part of the past decade. Load up on offense = never getting it done. It's been proven year after year here, replacing Happ with Sanchez is not getting them there even if we say their defense has improved & they now have a framing catcher. With the money saved, a top of the rotation starter with cheap relievers would net this team more wins imo.
  15. Wow I left the desk at 5:30, ate, put kids to bed.. and then this. How wonderful!
  16. Well same here but I vaguely remember for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Moogy should be here to put me in my place.
  17. He landed on the ground at 1000lbs of force? lol ok
  18. Part of me just doesn't expect the Jays to sign someone for the closer role and will use an internal resource for it, Cecil or Sanchez. I think Sanchez because of Cecil's versatility out of the pen is quite valuable. Would it stunt his growth as a future starter? I don't know, I don't think anyone can surely say it would and ultimately I'd be ok if he turned out to be a legit closer.
  19. Added poll. Other could be BP / traded.
  20. As in stands right now the Blue Jays don't have a closer. Some would argue they have plenty of starting pitching depth with long arms Redmond, Estrada, & Hendricks. Many would say Sanchez should be our closer while others like to see him start in AAA (Ideal world I guess), then there are a few that think he should be moved right in to the rotation. Those are your opinions, however the question is where will the Blue Jays end up putting Sanchez?
  21. I think in Beeston's mind if he says payroll is definitely increasing its just his way of saying salaries are increasing due to backloaded contracts
  22. Actually now Pillar is our LF
  23. I have a feeling Izturis/Travis is our 2B starting the season
  24. We want to sign a LF with at least a 33% on base rate not a 33% K rate.
  25. No and I named my son after him.
