If they can land Hardy, moving Reyes to 2B would be a solid upgrade all around at an affordable cost. AA probably wants to save face and fears talking to Reyes about that move.

Last fall AA said we need to upgrade second base & starting pitching. Almost had Santana & Kinsler (golf clap), instead we got Chris Getz, Steve Tolleson and Juan Francisco. Long term DL stints happened, weeks later we get Valencia & Reimold. No staff additions, no relief help, no second basemen. Blame lack of money, crap stadium, or AA... they are all interconnected imo. Turf needs to be addressed (I know it's coming), reserve funds need to be there, and AA has to grow a pair.

Maddux had 7 seasons in a row of 200IP with sub 3.00 ERA. 2 of those back-to-back with sub 2.00 ERA (1.56, 1.63). These are better than Kershaw numbers for 400IP+.

I'm not sure about Robbie but I certainly wouldn't mind Sandy. If I'm not mistaken, Indian fans all love Sandy as a coach. If that ever happens Lawrie & Lind better take Spanish lessons in the off season.

Stroman responded to Showalter. Responding to their dugout after throwing a fastball at one of their heads is completely disrespectful and shows the intent that was behind it (obviously not trying to hit him int he head, but a revenge hit regardless). He's a rookie and got taught a lesson, much like Machado did witht he bat incident. He's missing 1 start, don't make it sound like he's gone for half a season and don't cry about it's not fair. Bautista had it coming and he knew it considering Loup pegged Markakas minutes earlier. He braced for it, took it like a man and went to first. This was Bautista's response afterward: "They should have just manned up and hit me with first pitch."

Gibbons is obviously missing some much needed manager skills; He definitely needs to start bringing penguins, medicine men, and real blue jays to the clubhouse to motivate the team. Maybe a moose & a beaver too. Would bring a couple more wins for sure.

Everyone including the bat boys knew Bautista would be getting one in the ass being first up after Loup pegged Markakas the inning before. Stroman threw at his head and then had the balls to run his mouth to freaking Showalter afterward... a boneheaded rookie move. He got what was coming, more like a 1 game suspension for a starter.

I enjoyed Gibby this season much more than last. I think it happened during the win streak when he started embracing the platoon strategy, having to work with what was given to him. It was just too bad AA did absolutely nothing to address the inevitable regression of 25th roster guys playing well over their heads. It seemed to me like his demeanor had changed as well, likely because of knowing his team much better after a year and making sure everyone understood their role, like moving Lawrie to 2B even if he didn't want to and going by splits & stats best he could. The problem is this team needs more talent, plain & simple. They need depth, they need to be able to attract free agents so they can stop trading their annual haul of prospects. When long DL stints happen, reserve funds need to be there to do what is necessary because of our lack of depth. You can't go weeks on end without EE, Lind, Lawrie, etc. using scraps. Lawrie goes down 6 weeks before the deadline and no support came, except more platoon help weeks later. All of this while sporting 3 catchers. My head hurts, I need to stop typing.
