  1. Is there a stat somewhere that shows the average # of pitches thrown / IP for a pitcher? Not that it really matters but I'm curious how the better pitchers who go deep in games work their pitch count. It's also useful to know how much abuse young pitchers have actually taken by pitches thrown compared to just IP or what relievers might actually be available based on how much work they did their last game (5 pitches for 3 outs is a lot different than 30).
  2. Runners on base in extras has been common practice in baseball tournaments for years. Pretty much all competitive Softball leagues puts a runner on 2nd base in extras in tournaments. It's still better than soccer who might as well flip a coin. When the announcers say "He guessed right this time and made the miraculous winning save", you have a real s***** ending to a game.
  3. No I don't want him replacing Hendriks and it doesn't mean he will but it's ok if Schultz & Sanchez are basically used interchangeably.
  4. High leverage doesn't have to be 9th inning 1 run games or runners in scoring position in the 8th. I'd trust Sanchez a lot more than Aaron Loup facing 2 right handed bats in a row in the 7th inning of a 1 run game, aka Saturday.
  5. Update: we're taking the train in, thanks for the advice peeps.
  6. Oh phew he's a keeper now.
  7. Oh no not 0 for 2. Trade him.
  8. ffs, this will be the third Jays game in a row I'm going to that has RA Dickey pitching.
  9. Pretty sure Stroman is younger.. and smaller
  10. Yeah I'm familiar with the subway routes, I always found it easiest to just drive in though, I know a couple good parking lots close by. I was mostly concerned about traffic and parking with Pan Am happening on a Saturday.
  11. Yeah that sucks haha, I prefer to train it in but wife seems to thinkbwr need to drive. I'm certain she'll win. She always wins.
  12. No he'd be fine with it, noises sometimes bother him but he covers his ears if it's too much. He's more or less very cautious about his surroundings, scared of getting hurt, not a fan of tight crowds. We might end up driving down anyway, not sure if my 2yr old is up for walking the 15-20min skywalk I'll likely end up having to carry him back.
  13. Yea I've done Finch countless times and a couple years ago did the Yorkdale line with my wife and older son to a Jays game. It worked out well with timing and whatnot but he's on the Autism Spectrum and that experience was pretty nerve-racking for him. I think it would be a lot less stressful on the Go Train this time being smoother and less chaotic.
  14. Oh wow thanks, I just looked that up and yea it's like $51, practically the cost of 2 adults.
  15. Just 4 of us. My wife, myself and (soon to be) 6yr old & 2.5yr old. Youngest might be a pain in the ass on the train but that's life.
  16. That's a good call. I've never taken the Go Train there but it's now running on Saturdays and looks like it departs 9:48 and arrives at Union 11:18. Sounds like a good option but expensive.
  17. I haven't driven in to Toronto in a couple of months but I'm taking my family to the game on Saturday from Barrie. Any suggestions on which route to take and how early I should be leaving with regards to the traffic f***ery happening with Pan Am? I have to be there between 11am-1pm to get my tickets.
  18. You're suggesting we remove Travis in favour of Goins and Reyes when Travis has more than double the WAR of Goins & Reyes combined... You can't trade Travis and roll with Reyes & Goins and expect better results from your mid-infield. Gibbons needs to man up and protect our leads by swapping our defensive liability on the infield with our defensive wizard. Goins has yet to replace Reyes defensively late in a game we're winning which is my suggestion, there is nothing status quo about that it just requires a bigger set of balls by the manager.
  19. So we have our first legit second baseman since Aaron Hill and you want to trade him and stick Reyes there? How about benching Reyes in the 7th inning of every game we're leading for Goins instead? It's really not Reyes' throws that's the big problem, it's his limited range and no confident glove that's killing him out there. If Gibbons played things right with Smoak at first his throws in the dirt would get scooped more anyway.
  20. That was my favourite Derby since Josh Hamilton. Nothing will beat Hamilton.
  21. I'm exhausted just watching
  22. lol this is great
  23. This is so much better than 10 outs
  24. Crazy swing pace.
