    I don't understand what Goins' role is now on this team. If Gibbons can't see the logic behind using him as a late inning defensive replacement to Reyes, he serves only as an injury back up. He's the best defensive infielder on this team while we have a guy who prays every inning for the ball not to be hit to him. It's just a matter of time until it happens again.

    It's also quite possible the Jays are keeping Pompey in AA to see his numbers increase and use him as trade bait. Pompey+ for Cueto. Make it happen.

    Oh I agree. Pompey should be here and just play it out, he shouldn't have left to begin with. I'm not suggesting Norris should come up, I said he probably will because of that game. I believe it was the minion, Barry Davis that said it during last night's game that they'll look to call him up soon and you can pretty much assume it will happen, not because of Davis, because that's how this organization works.

    Could you imagine, 7th inning, 2 run lead with 1 on and Gibbons brings in Dickey. If you thought last night's game was stressful, that thought alone would make all of us bald.

    I don't know why. Pompey should've been here for the road trip imo. For Norris it's because his walk rate has been high and Estrada has done a solid job taking over while he works on his command. I believe his last start he didn't walk anyone so he'll probably get a call up soon. If they bring Norris up, who do they replace? My guess is they are waiting for Sanchez to return off the DL before calling him up. Even though Sanchez has been getting better and showing sound results of late, he's still a -0.1 fWAR player who could help our BP more than any other SP. They aren't going to lose games by replacing him with Norris, but they could win some. Then trade for a starter and DFA Dickey lol.

    Well yes but I'm assuming AA is trying to upgrade the rotation first and Parra would be a relatively cheap, rental option that can throw a ball in the f***ing right direction.

    Speaking of Brewers, what do you guys think of Gerardo Parra as a trade target for a left fielder? 2x gold glover and he's hitting his pants off at the moment, you have to assume Brewers are moving him.

    I don't give a s*** if any one of the players we traded for Donaldson put up MVP seasons. We got what we needed from them, a player who essentially replaces one of EE or Bautista at some point and is all around an immediate upgrade at an important position. The trade made our team better and every GM would have made the exact same move in our position.

    It will be an interesting race to the finish. We're just going to keep beating each other up, it's really hard to project who's going to take it but the upcoming trade deadline could have a huge impact on the results and should tell us who wants it the most.

    But Reyes is a veteran with like 35,000 posts. I guess you could temporary ban him for that newb Goins but there could be repercussions. I could see a bunch of Fake Reyes' taking over the field next game.
