  1. I really don't tbh, I didn't realize they were taking call ins.
  2. Holy f*** Jeff Blair show taking call ins is just f***ing noise, especially when Blair advocates how he would have put up that money for him if it was his money.
  3. Hanley Ramirez was a -1.8 fWAR this season where steamer predicts he's going to put up a 2.2 season. It seems illogical to bet on a guy being 4 wins better than last year while apparently playing 1B where he has never played an inning.
  4. Good for Price... really you can never blame a guy taking a record breaking deal no matter what team he signs with. The Red Sox on the other hand.... hahahahahaha
  5. lol, I hope you're trolling because a 5.14 ERA from your starting rotation is not good enough for any line up.
  6. Stroman is basically Price's replacement considering he made like 4 starts... Look, we have Chavez over Hutch, Happ over Sanchez and Estrada over Buehrle to start the season. This is a better rotation than whatever mashup last April was.
  7. I guess I can live with it. Kind of disappointing but I have nothing against Happ and he's improved since moving on. I hope we get the expected value of 2 fwar/season from him, though I have doubts.
  8. Too bad there is probably more injury filled seasons for both of them down the road, they seem to play hurt a lot. It's just even when they are not 100% they still provide more value than any replacement level player so they are kept on the field. That's perhaps more due to lack of depth than anything. Look at Martin battling through hamstring injury for 4-6 weeks because putting him on the DL would have likely provided less expected value then having behind the plate. In fact a Russel Martin with a pulled hamstring is still a faster runner than a healthy Navarro.
  9. Yea I don't have the confidence that Bautista would be any closer to an average 1B defensively and I don't think he'd be better than EE. EE has actually been improving defensively each year since becoming more or less a regular first basemen in 2012 and this year he actually put up a + UZR/150 for the first time in his career. 2012: 583 innings, -14.5 UZR/150 2013: 698 innings, -10.8 UZR/150 2014: 694 innings, -9.7 UZR/150 2015: 481 innings, +5.1 UZR/150 He's trending in the right direction at least, I think Bautista would start well behind him even if he is naturally a better defender.
  10. Can someone explain to me the higher taxes that players would be paying as a Jay vs an American team, I'm confused by it? Our highest federal tax bracket is 29% (albeit changing soon with the liberals) and the highest provincial tax bracket I believe is 13.16%. I'm not sure if just 'adding them up' is a fair comparison to our American friends, I'm sure the great mind of RealAccountant can fill us in but a collective 42% is not much higher than the US federal tax of 39% + $119K + state taxes (where applicable). Not looking for an argument, just information as I was under the impression there was a larger gap between our taxes and theirs.
  11. This is going to be a long freakin off season.

  13. f*** I liked Hendriks. Welcome back Chavez.
  14. Good thing they gave him them, wasn't sure if he could afford such a nice pair.
  15. I like Navarro he seems genuine though he's not coming back at $4-5mm.
  16. looks like we've won this offseason.
  17. thanks, I must have disabled styles with a shortcut or something on the site.
  18. fair enough, just saying deals can get done without giving up our best chip.
  19. Does anyone else get a broken up http://www.baseball-reference.com/ in Chrome? It seems to be missing all CSS styles but fine in other browsers. Been this way for a few days for me.
  20. Most would say acquiring Donaldson, Price, or Tulowitzky would begin with Stroman too. Maybe we're not as stupid as them.
  21. If the Marlins end up trading Ozuna (their young CF who they don't get along with), they would have a hole to fill in CF. There is also talk of them possibly listening on trade offers for Fernandez (why I have no f***ing idea, but they would look for more young controllable talent in return). Not sure if the Jays have the assets to make a play here but the thought of Fernandez in our rotation next to Stroman is kind of fap worthy. Dangling Sanchez & Pompey is probably a start but maybe more of an AA move than a Shapiro move? Fernandez doesn't come without risk but has ace written all over him.
  22. I would rather have a 20-Game 200 Level Infield Flex Pack over season tickets 500 level.
  23. Would have been 2022 if the Jays didn't have him on the team to start the season. It's one thing if he was starting for us, but to burn a year for a month's worth of work for a reliever while sending Delabar down was pretty stupid.
  24. If Votto was in the line up we could just use a pitching machine as our #3 starter.
