  1. lol I didn't stat check, still seems relevant. People are worried for EE to get started, I'm more worried about Estrada. I don't see how he's going to be stretched out to give us anything above 4 or 5 innings to start the season. Either hutch throws for him or it's going to be Estrada/Chavez type of combo I think.
  2. It's okay, it's a night game on the road.
  3. minus McCann is that the Yankees opening day line up?
  4. He f***ed up by not putting on 25lbs of muscle in the offseason, now he's on the decline.
  5. He made me an hour late for a game posting 2:05pm instead of 1:05pm for a GDT title. Practically a bench warmer.
  6. G-Snarls is really struggling this spring training. Sources say he might be starting the season in the minors.
  7. To be fair, he played in the major leagues as many years as you've been alive and beyond his usual drunken swing and a drive rodeo calls, he seems like a pretty interesting guy who always has a story.
  8. You can never buy those numbers, they are always played safe. Only Cubs & Dodgers are projected to break 90 wins lol.
  9. If we're leading the division at the deadline I don't think either get traded even though it could be best for the team. Shapiro has had to struggle to build general trust with the fanbase and letting them play it out might be a wise move for retention purposes. In the event we are a .500 club then I think they wouldn't hesitate to ask for a list of teams. The odds of finding a competitive AL Team with a weak DH at the deadline who have the assets to trade for EE seems pretty slim, I don't see many scenarios where he's an easy trade. Where as I think Bautista would bring a lot more trade partners to the table who need an outfield or DH upgrade from either league.
  10. http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Standings#AL-E Apparently Boston is and we're a wild card team.
  11. It's Tellez' birthday today, probably wanted that one out.
  12. or maybe they just want to get his confidence up and pitch in environments he thrives in to figure s*** out.
  13. Great, except a scrub left handed bat off the bench can still tee one up against him. That's not an ideal set up man, he's a right handed specialist and should be used as one. Storen's projected numbers are skewed, he preformed very differently after giving the closing job to Pyschobon and it's still up in the air what his job will be. If Storen is closing, Osuna is your set up man or vice versa.
  14. Do you guys actually think Gibby is going to put Sanchez as a 6th inning man? If last year taught me anything about his thought process, I'm expecting Storen to be treated like Lowe and Sanchez will be the set up man.
  15. Yea there was a lot to like about Hendriks. He finally knew how to get big leaguers out and they trade him. Not to mention he tossed like 5 shutout innings after Dickey blew up against the Royals in a postseason game, he could easily spot start. He was worth the risk alone of trying to move him back to a SP role imo, I don't see how Chavez really brings a lot more value for us.
  16. It can go either way but stuffing Hutch/Chavez/Sanchez whoever in to the BP seems like a bad idea. I just prefer having a capable starter ready to go when someone goes down. I understand Chavez could be that guy but a long arm out of the pen is meant for when Dickey blows up in the 1st inning giving up 6 runs, not as a back up when someone tears an elbow. Lack of depth options has historically killed the Jays more than anything over the past decade (minus last season).
  17. Yea, I think it's really going come down to Floyd or Sanchez. Considering Floyd has a major league contract, I'd be tempted so start Sanchez in AAA. Storen/Osuna/Cecil should be able to lock down the BP anyway.
  18. Sounds like Chavez is struggling
  19. sounds like it was a look what I found catch.
  20. I know most predict JB will eventually be a DH within a year but keep in mind how bad his shoulder was last season that lead to a pretty awful result. I think he's still a very capable defender and if the shoulder is 100% he's likely right around an average defender, probably 0 UZR/150 over the next couple years. That's an asset that doesn't come with EE's bat and has additional value. Of course I'm making that prediction up like a magician but it seems quite plausible to me that JBats is not a pure DH in 2017 and maybe even 2018.
  21. I'm sick of the Sanchez & Goins debates.
  22. Can't people just be optimistic? ffs
  23. Classic Dickey. Probably leads the league in 2 run homers.
  24. Donaldson taught him a leg kick?
  25. Yeah, I don't think he's a rotation lock.
